Now that we've all given LGO our very best, we have a month-loooong wait ahead of us. Thank you guys for all the support - sharing interview debriefs (Hopeful, IME, harshadrane etc.), giving hope for Skype interviews (ChemEng!) and lots more. Can we share interesting articles, GIFs etc. to help pass the time or is that against forum rules? Sorry, sorta new here :)

I think it's against forum rules to have fun, but I'm not sure. JK, share away! :)

So... Haven't gotten an interview yet nor rejected. Anyone on the same boat?

Sent from my iPhone using GMAT Club Forum mobile app

I hate to be the bear of bad news, but they have probably sent out all the interview invites already. :( They don't send out rejection emails, you just don't hear from them, which is tough.

I'm sorry. :(

Yea, it's going to be a long month, so I'm trying to find other stuff to focus on. Sorry if this sounds like a #humblebrag, but I was miraculously invited to interview for HBS last week, so I have that to prep for over the next 10 days. LGO is my top choice because of the operations-focus, but HBS would sure be a nice option to have if LGO doesn't work out.

Then again, I should probably be focusing on work instead of this...but work is boring sometimes :P

For everyone that went to InterviewFest, what was your favorite part? Any good stories to share from the current students?

Congrats on getting an HBS interview!

One of my favorite parts of InterviewFest was meeting applicants and current students from all over the world. Often I was the only one from the US in group conversations and it was so interesting to hear everyone's stories!

Oh, also, my interviewer told me that the entire admissions committee would be getting together on the 7th/8th (including members of the engineering departments) to discuss the interviewed applicants. We'll probably still be waiting until the end of the month, but for those who specifically requested earlier indication (due to other schools), you could potentially have an answer in the next 10 days or so.

Is it true that applicants for LGO who failed will be automatically considered again in Sloan MBA (or their respective engineering department)?

From https://lgo.mit.edu/apply/application-directions/:

"What is the difference between applying through SoE and MIT Sloan? For the MIT LGO admissions process, nothing. Your application is evaluated using the same criteria regardless of application route. However, if we cannot accept you to the LGO program, you will be considered for admission to the MIT Sloan MBA program (Round 2) if you applied through MIT Sloan, or for admission to your engineering department if you applied through SoE. Every year, a few students are offered admission to an engineering department or to the Sloan MBA program after the LGO admissions process has finished."

Waiting is rough. Not much else to say besides that - if it's like other years, 19 more days!

I'm dying to know the results... If you're accepted will you guys travel out on the 20th of April, I believe, for all incoming LGO's?

Yes I'm so sick of waiting; I want to know my fate already! :)

If accepted, I likely wouldn't be able to attend LGO AdMIT weekend because it would conflict with previously scheduled travel.

I requested an early indication. Let's see how it goes!

Did they tell you when you would know by? You'll have to let us know what you decide to do if admitted! Do you know if you'll take the LGO position or Stanford position if offered both?

Goodluck! I hope it went well, I'm sure you aced it. Sort of feels good to have done our part and leave it upon fate (or whatever the kids are calling it these days).

Haha, love it! I think waiting has stages, somewhat life grief. It was brutal in the beginning but more of a constant humming in the background now...also, having a start-up that urgently needs good talent helps take mind off things!

Perhaps some lucky ones would be in the "yes" pile after that meeting!

I also requested early notification. My contract for my secondment to China ends in May and my company wants to get started on my UK visa (next stop) right now. I'd rather save them the hassle (and potential anger) if possible...
