Hello,
I am in Indian Male, with Engineering background, passed with First Class grade. (67%, not exactly sure how much would that be on GPA scale).
I have over 12 years of experience in IT, including around 6 years of experience of working at customer site. Party due to mid-life crisis and partly due to my aspirations, I quit IT. I started off as a developer there and resigned as a senior project manager with experience in managing team sizes ranging from 25 to 100 in implementation and maintenance of ERP Transformations. In a week now, I am about to join "Teach for India" (TFI) as a fellow and would be spending next two years as a fellow there.
My area of interests are Sustainable Development and Public policy / administration. TFI move is to test the waters before jumping in completely (atmost it would be a good experience and considered a sabbatical).
I would like to pursue an MBA in the above areas of interest, post TFI, that is two years from now. I took GMAT today and got a score of 670 (Q48, V34).
My requests for Advise / Information:
Request for your expert advise on which schools to look for and the strategy to secure an admission.
Also, what are my chances of getting a scolorship.
Are there any schools which engage such aspirants early to secure an admission or atleast to engage informally as a potential student.
I am not thinking of retaking GMAT, please advise.

Hi there,
Which schools to apply is a very personal decision and it is best if you arrive at that target list by yourself.
I can help you think about certain questions that will further help you come up with the answers:
1. Where do you want to study for your MBA? US, EU, Asia, Australia?
2. Where do you want to work after MBA?
3. Are you eligible to work in that country? How much awareness you have about immigration-related challenges in that country?
4. Who are your target companies/ institutes? Find what schools they go for recruiting
5. Do you have budgetary constraints? How will you finance your MBA?
6. Do you want to do full-time program or part-time/ EMBA? 2yr or 1yr program?
Once you have narrowed down the schools, one simple way to further shortlist your target schools would be to look at their average GMAT. From what I can see about your background, I'd say you could aim for schools where average GMAT is < 650.
Unfortunately, scholarship looks difficult with 670.

Thanks Vibranture. This gives me a direction to think.
But applying for schools with Avg score less than 650 means that my overall 12 years experience till date and the two years further i am going to spend as part of fellowship(NGO) is not adding at all to the GMAT score. I thought these also add up to the profile. Could you please advise how do I further check on those which value this experience and diverse aspect of it.
