Hi teagongadze,
First off, a 640 is a solid score (it's just of the 80th percentile overall), so it could be enough to help you get into your first-choice Business School. If you do choose to retest though, I'd like to know a bit more about this performance before I offer any advice:
1) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on the GMAT?
2) Did you finish early or have to rush to finish any of the sections (and guess on a bunch of questions at the end)?
3) What are the specific application deadlines that your'e facing?
4) If you don't score 700+, will you still apply?
GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi Rich,
Thank you for your reply. My top schools are Stanford, UCLA and Harvard so I am little worried 640 is gonna pull me back. I am not the best test taker so I am just hoping to get closer to 680-700 and I will be happy. I do not want to waste too much time on GMAT prep either because I know essays and other parts of my application might be more important.
As for your questions:
1. Q- 46 & V - 32 (I am not a native english speaker). I actually got the enhanced Score report and these are breakdowns: Verbal Percentiles: CR=76th; RC=68th; SC=40th. Quant Percentiles: PS=72nd; DS=70th; Arithmetics=71st; Algebra/Geom = 72nd.
2. As for time management, that has been my issue since my college exams. So for quant I did not have time to do my last 2 questions. And I did rush through a lot in the end. For the verbal the same - I did finish all the questions but I couldn't even read last 3-4 SC questions and had to just guess.
3. Applying for second rounds in January but I have to finish up everything by Dec 24th because of work travelings in January.
4. I think other parts of my application are strong, I have 3.8 GPA and magna cum laude, I have different licenses to show academics and then work stuff and expecting nice recommendations too. So yeah as long as I score closer to 680 I am applying this year

Thank you so very much for your advice!!!!!
