I am from India, an engineering graduate working at a software firm. I have around 1.9 years of work experience. I need some advice on preparing for GMAT test, I just started my weekend classes for GMAT at Princeton Review. I have scored a 380 in the diagnostic test without any knowledge on GMAT.
I am looking for European B schools especially Germany (Fall 2018 intake).
Can someone please provide me some guidance to improvise my GMAT score so that I can get into some good B school?
Like,
Any study plan should I follow?
When should I take up my GMAT to apply for fall 2018 intake?
Is it possible to improve my score to 600+?
What materials should I use for Quants and Verbal? (For understanding basics and for questions prep)
Note - I am ready to put in my toughest effort to achieve that target.

Any suggestions or guidance would be much appreciated.
Hello @gauthambr looking at your moc score feels like you need to work a lot on your basic concepts. Though I don't underestimate your potential to score more. I believe you can still cross 600+ with certain amount of discipline and lots and lots of practice.

Here is what you can use:

Start with foundation concepts for that refer -
1. Foundations for Verbal - Manhattan
2. Foundations for Quant - Manhattan

Then start with other Manhattan strategy guides to cover quant and verbal. Create a plan and ensure you stock to it.

For CR I would recommend CR Bible.

Hope this helps, please PM in case you have any further questions.

Hi gauthambr,

I'm going to assume that this class includes a specific schedule and homework assignments, so I suggest that you complete the class first and we can see how well you improve. Attempting to 'merge' two different study plans at the same time would probably not be a good idea. Once you've used your current materials a bit more, and taken some additional practice CATs, we'll have a better idea of what you'll specifically need to work on.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

What materials should I use for Quants and Verbal?

Manhattan GMAT Strategy guides 5th or 6th edition for learning GMAT concept
You can also use Veritas prep guides but Manhattan are on top
For practice of questions only best material is Official Guide you can use OG 13, 15, 16 or 17
whichever is available plus GMAT club test for Quant are best
CR reasoning bible is best in CR
Thursday with Ron videos from Manhattan GMAT are best for SC and RC

(For understanding basics and for questions prep)

Manhattan foundations of GMAT Verbal and GMAT Math is best for learning basics of Math

Is it possible to improve my score to 600+?
It is simply possible with some effort

Any study plan should I follow?

Start with the quant, which can also switch over to Verbal if feel irritated from Math
Learn concept first and then practice those question with time limitation
study daily 3-4 hours not more than 4 hours
study in 2 sessions (1.5 hour x 2)
Take quizzes, review all of your practice learn from mistakes
find out your weak areas, practice them again
Make an error log
Take 6-7 CATs, review each of them, analyze your pace, your mistakes
Sleep well before test night
eat digestible food

Good Luck
Cheers
