Love that I can see attempt history but also don't the fact that I can't see the options ABCDE until I start the timer. Why would you do that?

Thank you for the feedback!

You can check the OA without starting the timer by clicking the big "Show Answer" button.

Previously, users were clicking A, B, C, D, or E just to reveal the answer, which created a log with 0 time in the error log, even though the question wasn’t actually attempted. Now, if you want to check the official answer and stats, you need to click the "Show Answer" button, which won’t create a 0-time log in the error log. If you want the question added to the error log, start the timer, select an answer, and it will be recorded properly in the error log.

So, essentially, if you just want to check the official answer and stats, click the large "Show Answer" button in the timer or "Show Answer" under the post. If you want the question added to the Error Log, start the timer and select an answer (A, B, C, D, or E).

Hi, 2 drawbacks I have observed for the new layout:

1. Alignment of the question section itself has shifted to the left side. It was centrally (almost) aligned before which made for a smooth UX for reading and solving questions. If this could be realigned to the centre, it would not strain the neck providing an enhanced user experience.

2. Unless timer is switched on, I cannot answer a question. Timer functionality is used at a later stage of preparation when accuracy levels have been reached. Using the timer as a mandatory function will draw concentration away from accuracy in the first phase of preparation which might contribute to slower productivity.

Thank you for the feedback!

1. Let’s think about how we can improve this. It might just be that the UI is new, and you need some time to get used to it.

2. You can check the OA without starting the timer by clicking the big "Show Answer" button.

Previously, users were clicking A, B, C, D, or E just to reveal the answer, which created a log with 0 time in the error log, even though the question wasn’t actually attempted. Hi bb Bunuel

Thanks for the new UI. Looks refreshing. Change is always a little hard to accept at first, and it will take some time for complete acceptance from all. But, it's necessary after all the world will be nothing if it doesn't offer change.

The new history feature is super cool. And am sure, you guys are on the bug fix for adding mistake button.
Am a big fan of white spaces and it is so underrated to have the webpage clean when it is such text heavy. The previous UI looked a lot crowded tbh.

For the ADD MISTAKE button, if we can replace the inactive Vocabulary void button for quant section with something else (e.g. A lot of GMAT question tricks us with tricky language and that's where a lot of mistake happens. We can add a singular word for that and put that instead of just keeping the vocabulary void button inactive). Just a suggestion.

Also, it feels the SHOW ANSWER button beside the timer is not needed. There is a SHOW ANSWER button just below the question and hence i feel like its an unnecessary repeat.

Overall, its a good start for a new change and slowly will get better with more inputs from the community.

Thank you again for all the hard work you guys put in to make this journey less stressful.

I can’t attempt w/o turning on the timer. Answer options are not visible w/o the timer.
As someone who almost never uses timer. I think in hard options I will be forced to pause the timer and it may give unreliable data ?

Unless it’s deliberately done for some reason or I am missing something.

Thank you the reply. ok I can see the stats with show answer. So its perfectly fine.

Is there a dark UI option? I miss the sharp transition from one answer to other. New UI has the boundary between different user responses too smooth.
I use the ipad with 3/4 of the screen gmat club and 1/4 onenote for calculations. May be the smaller screen is giving me trouble.
But, I do see how many others could find this better. May be I need some time getting used to it.

Thank you for the feedback!

Yes, we are working on fixing the bugs. Unfortunately, no matter how many times you test, some will still slip through. We are also continuously improving the UI based on the feedback we receive, so expect more updates over the next few weeks.

1. Yes, we are working on fixing the Add Mistake button.

2. You're right—we removed dozens of unnecessary links and buttons to make the page less cluttered.

3. Are you suggesting something like "Tricky Language" as a mistake type?

4. Yes, you can reveal the OA either by clicking the Show Answer button in the timer or at the bottom of the post. We designed it this way to give students more options and avoid unnecessary scrolling when posts or questions are long.

Thank you again for your thoughtful input!

For example, consider how I use the timer for Reading Comprehension (RC) questions. Instead of timing each individual question, I focus on the total time spent on the entire passage.

If an RC passage has five questions, I start the timer on the fifth question without looking at it, then go back to the passage. I read the passage and answer the first four questions without using the timer for them. Finally, once I answer the fifth question, the timer stops. This way, the timer tracks the total time spent reading and solving the passage, without the need to manually add up the time for each question.

Since individual question timing doesn’t really matter for RC, this approach works well for me. It seems like the options are now shown only after starting the timer, maybe because people weren’t using it before, but I preferred the previous setup.

Thank you! That’s an interesting point. I understand what you mean; however, I have a question: why can't you follow the same process with the current version of the timer?

1. You can go to the last question and start the timer. That will track your total time for all the questions, just like before—so nothing changes here.
2. Then, you can go back to the first question, start the timer there, and answer it. This way, you’ll also get the individual times for each question along with the total time for the entire passage.

Glad the timer issue is resolved! Let’s work on the sharpness a bit—maybe we can come up with a solution, or you might get more used to the new design over time. Either way, the issue should be taken care of.

Hi everyone, I am excited to share that the new UI/design for the topic pages has been released.
Thank you Bunuel for your hard work on this initiative!

I hope it works well for everyone but I know there are always small things that we can make better or maybe big ones too!
If you run into any issues, bugs, or you have questions, PLEASE - LET US KNOW! We would love to fix them!

To highlight a few of the new and hopefully cool features:

  1. You can now close the right hand bar. Just click X. This setting will be saved for your session. When you come back the bar will be back but you can easily close it if gets in your way.
    Attachment:
    close-x.png
  2. Simplification of the UI experience (we have removed a lot of the rarely used buttons/features
  3. Left "Hamburger" bar is now visible on all pages for easy navigation
  4. Improved Timer in the question sub-forums - example
  5. Profiles are much more compact now - they are no longer using up the space on the left, allowing more space for the topic and text, esp. valuable in the RC and DI questions. You can mouse over
  6. More...

how I submit the asnwer , the button method A, B, C, D, E was so easy to attempt , I am confused right now! , please help

Not quite sure if this is an error or else.

I am cautious when say something about a new feature implemented.

Nonetheless

I attempt a question like any other question https://gmatclub.com/forum/a-merchant-m ... 41935.html

I picked up my answer

You need to reload the page for the attempt to be displayed. We are working on resolving this.

Hi developers,
Thank you, despite it took me a while to acclimatize this UI but it is totally great, it looks fresh and make me focus more on the task. I have 2 recommendations:
1/ Because I usually use error log these days, I would like to make a note without jumping into a new tab for filling my error log. Is it possible to update the note and to keep that still in the exercise page while making notes as the old version?
2/ I wish to hide automatically the tags, which are "600-655 Level, OG" for example, and turn it on as our desire. IMO, it would make us more focus on the exercise and won't be AFRAID of high-level question ^^!

Thank you again for your contribution again!

Thank you for the feedback! Glad to hear you like the new UI.

1. This issue will be fixed soon.
2. We did have the feature to hide tags, but very few people used it, so we removed it. However, we can consider bringing it back if there’s enough demand.

I've found an issue for me personally. Earlier I used to filter using "Unattempted Only". If I use new "Show answer" then this filter is not helpful.
Is there any way I could avoid the questions where I used "Show answer" ?
Otherwise, I have to now attempt the question knowing the answer which will skew the stats OR always use the timer(for Hard questions especially 805+ I dont like to use the timer)
