Huh. That’s a bit unusual. You should see the test scheduled right away…. I would give it 12-24 hrs. That’s usually their turn around time in the systems. Meaning that’s how long it takes for their systems to talk to each other.

I totally understand. It is unusual… but surprises in the shoes are usual with GMAC 😂

Issues - typo 🙄

How far in advance do you need to register for the test and if you’re scoring well into 700s is it recommended to go to a test center or can I take it online from home

You have to register at least one day in advance but I’d recommend probably a week or two.

You can take either online or at the test center. The an online test is likely to be a bit more disruptive. Not necessarily but some lag may happen or some Proctor back-and-forth. However, you can take the test at any time. The upside of the test center is that you have scratch paper and nobody’s going to nag you… however the computers and the set up at test centers can be less than ideal and it may be noisy.

Thanks! I live in Texas and usually proctoring places aren’t bad I’ll have to see though now that you mention the scratch paper thing, can I not use my own scratch paper at home?

If you take the test online, and for some reason your test gets interrupted because of connection issues and you end up losing time, remember that you cannot really complain later on so if you continue to take the test, you basically accept the lost time. So if you do end up losing time due to connectivity or other issues which is not common but it does happen, the only fair option is to terminate the test 🥴 - I basically have it terminate due to connection or reboot issue… otherwise there’s not much recourse you can have later on due to issues s

You can use a dry erase board at home.

I may write a new topic about choosing in person versus online test 😇

Thinking about the post, what do you think is the best way to organize it? Would it be pros and cons of each or would it be a line item by line item comparing the two?

I’m a bit torn 😂

I mean you essentially did the pros and cons already

It would be 2-3 paragraphs of text at most the mba site is very muddy lol

I’d be interested to know how proctoring and practical day of test stuff goes down online versus at a test center

Will take 30-40 mins to finish perhaps.

Let me know if you think better to switch rows with columns

Just my two cents I think the columns should be pros and cons and the rows should be online vs test center but just saw you’re the founder of this site lol up to you boss.

I headed this way originally but then they changed it 😂 I was wondering if I wanted to see the pros side-by-side or the test side-by-side. I’ll make two versions and we can decide

Sure. If you’re looking for about 600, you should aim to answer most easy questions and half of medium ones in your practice. So if you take three easy and three medium questions in GMAT Club timer or from the official guide book, aim to have four or five of them answered correctly.
bb! My test is tomorrow, i did a GMAT official practice yesterday and scored 550! (i was tired from working all day 8-5 and it was at night)

It was what you said, to score over the 500 threshold I needed to reinforce basic topics and avoid silly mistakes by measuring my performance daily

i’m hoping tomorrow at morning i’ll be fresh, I know I can get to over +600… the thing that set me back yesterday was really time management, but the questions themselves were mostly 600 level and doable.

I ran out of time on both quant and verbal and had to guess at the end 3-4 questions😅
