Hey, anyone here giving the new GMAT?
Any recommendations on which one I should be taking?
Planning to take it November end
PS: I’m retaking the GMAT since I wasn’t happy with my score ( took my first one last year)

I tried a mock test for both versions, I feel it is easier to score in GMAT classic(Got Q49 from this mock). Since it all comes to the percentile in the end. It is harder to score a good percentile in the FOCUS version even with a good quant since most people taking the exam are good with quants.

Depends on your weak/strong points in your previous exam. Did you lose out on Sentence Correction and Geometry? And how was your IR score?

If you’re willing to spend a little, I’d recommend getting the ESR for your previous exam and figuring out your strengths and weaknesses. Depending on that and your IR score you can decide if the Focus Edition is a better option for you. Neither version is better than the other tbh, especially if you’ve already studied for the older version in the past 6 months

A Q46 with a V40 should get you to hit 700. It depends on whether you think V40+ is achievable while maintaining/increasing your Q46

Hi, does the GMAT Forum Quiz only provide OG questions or some other questions as well? I’ve read on past threads that you can select to make sure you’re only doing OG questions but I don’t see such an option

The form Quiz will show questions from the fourms, which are composed of official questions ans unofficial. It is possible to select tags to filter out by source, making it so there are only official questions

Hi everyone! Just did a quant test here and got 45 only. Normally I get 50 in the exam, at least 49. Is the quant test here more difficult than the real exam? or what is the reason? If I want to guarantee a 50+ for Quant. What should I do?

Our quant section is notoriously more challenging. Use the official mocks to signal when you should take the exam

I would say it is the opposite. GMAT Focus appears to have fixed the quant scale. In GMAT original, even if you score a Q48 - a very good score - you get only 70th percentile.

Hi. It’s very easy. Every business school except HBS has merit scholarships. You are eligible when you apply. If you stand out compared to the averages in that business school, you’ll get offered a merit scholarship. This is the biggest source of scholarships for business schools covering probably about 99% there are some other small grants and scholarships that some of the top 10 business schools half Those are minor, you have to be admitted to qualify for them and you have to compete for them. Nobody applies to those schools because of the scholarships per se it’s rather a bonus …

Ah okay great, apologies but would you be able to let me know how I can filter to have OG questions only by tags? I’m using Forum Quiz 2.0 and I’m seeing that option anywhere when I began a question set

Hi All - just beginning GMAT prep. Does anyone have advice on which course to go with? I’m trying some trials but found a lot of conflicting info online. Here are my priorities:

Online classes (need the collaboration and accountability)
60% Quant / 40% Verbal Focus
Cost less important as long as there’s value
3months to complete
Able to commit a lot of time (currently not working)

I’m looking at TTP, Magoosh, Princeton Review (although have read some negatives) Kaplan and open to any others. This may be tough to prescribe just lost on Reddit Threads. Thanks for any help.
