I think this is a good strategy.

The GMAT is indeed quite demanding of mental acuity.

I advise all students to prioritize sleep and overall wellness, as the #1 foundation to an outstanding GMAT score.

Careless errors and loss of focus are penalized harshly by the GMAT scoring algorithm. We lose a lot more points for missing easy and medium questions than hard questions.

Best wishes with everything!

Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder last month, I was planning to take gmat in October, Issue is the medications prescribed clearly affected the way i solve problems. Even easy problem seemed difficult, I lose my memory, lose track of where I am. Now, Issue is I want to give GMAT next year, continuing the GMAT study routine to keep the habit fresh.

In the mean time I want to take CFA L1 which is slightly less cognitively demanding . In the mean time, I’ll also be able to come out and reduce my medications so that my mental acuity is regained.

Is my strategy right or not recommended ?

515 to 605 in 40 days?
Yes, absolutely doable with focused, structured daily training.

Here are 2 high-impact tips many students overlook:

1) Rapid-fire flashcard quizzing

Build fluency through active recall — it’s far more effective than passive review like re-reading.

Create your own flashcards as you go. Use this format:

“When I see _____” (just this blank goes on the front)
“I do/think _____” (back)

This builds the habits you need for rapid accuracy.

Example:

2) Review, Reflect, Re-Do

Don’t just review your mistakes.

Reflect — What action or habit would’ve prevented the error or made you faster?

Then Re-Do the question later to lock in mastery.

Speed and accuracy come from smart habits, not just doing lots of questions.

Wishing you all the best on your GMAT prep and exam!

hey guys I have been studying for about 2 months and got my score from 495 to 595 in 3 week, and then to 635 in about 2 more weeks... my problem really is quant at the moment (35th percentile and 98,96 in data & verbal) - I only have a little less than two weeks left now and would appreciate any tips on how to approach going through all the quant topics again: do I use the math book or just everything in the "everything you need for quant guide"? I don’t have ttp or anything so thank you very much in advance

Yes, as necessary, you can review theory here: https://gmatclub.com/forum/ultimate-gma ... 44512.html

I also recommend doing official questions using the Advanced search, and keeping a good error log. Remember to "Review, Reflect, Re-do": On any challenging ones, review, reflect on how to improve next time, and re-do them often. During the "Reflect" step, make your own flashcards for rapid-fire daily drilling, and you will build good habits and fluency.

Once you are strong on speed and accuracy on lower difficulties, you can progressively increase the difficulty on each topic. It's important to master the mediums, before focusing too much on the hard ones. You are penalized much more for missing easier questions.

https://gmatclub.com/forum/advanced-search/

For example, you can filter like this, using source "Official Guide" or "GMAT Prep (Classic)". Percents problems are particularly important and common in both Quant and DI:
