Hello,
Thanks for asking. I like to know what is the maximum experience based on student profiles in last couple of batches in EPGP program. Does EPGP have students with 10+ years of experience as well ?

Hi Raghuvaran,
EPGP batches have an extremely diverse mix of students both in experience and in professional background. Maximum experience in last and current batch has been close to 15 yrs and almost 30% of our batch is 10+ yrs in experience. Please refer to the official EPGP website for more detailed statistics.

Hi Arushi,
You would have to provide your referees' email address in your application and a link to submit the referral would be sent to them. That link would lead them to an online form which they would fill and submit.

Hi Arushi,
Applicant would not have access to the referral form. Referee would have to rate the applicant on certain competency factors and answer a few questions about applicant's achievements, strengths, weaknesses etc. Any specific examples he could mention would add great value to the referral.

Hi sagarag,
Your overall experience seems good but your GMAT score is much lower than what would be competitive at the IIMB EPGP. The median GMAT score of EPGP students is 700. If you can raise your GMAT score to around this, you should be competitive.

Hi Sagarag,
Your overall profile is quite good and your industry knowledge wud add to the diversity of the class. The current EPGP class has students that scored in mid 600's in their GMAT. A higher GMAT score wud certainly add a lot more value to your application.
Here is the debrief of one such interview. Overall abt 30 mins. There were 3 panelists(2 professors and 1 alumni). One of them was from marketing. It was more like a discussion where they presented their views as well after questioning me.
P: So what did other candidates told u abt the interview
Me:That its a cool interview inside
All started giggling.
P: Let me tell u a secret and you will be surprised. Stress interviews doesnt mean that its bad.
Me: Nodded
P: tell me abt an event of ur life from which u learnt
Me:Told a life changing event
P:what kept u motivated u for such a long time(based on my event) Me:answered
P:Suppose you are ur organization's India head and come in Delhi for few hrs. Which ministry in govt will u meet and what will u discuss
Me:answered.Discussed abt issues faced and govt policy on that
P:Countered Me:answered by taking my stand but they cut me in between.
P: Why everyone blames govt.Telecom should come up with better revenue mode. Then they stated talking abt startups in telecom and how it helps in innovation. Then discussions on how auctioning happens. How the ceo's meet in bombay and what they discuss. This was not questioning but were their views abt this. I wasnt asked anything on this. I just listened whatever they told me and nodded positively.
P:Why MBA
Me:answered
P:Countered
Me: answered.
P:Tell us abt ur work initiative( based on my SOP). Lot of counter questions on this. How automation is harmful. I had to justify automatons. They were just laughing at my examples of real world.

Hi,
Round 1 and Round 2 have been incorporated for administrative convenience. R1 application deadline is on Aug 31st and the offers for this round will be made in Oct. R2 deadline is Nov 30th and offers would be made around Jan. (Exact offer dates would be posted on the website). Both rounds have similar allocation of seats and the chances of getting in would be nearly same. However, since you get to know the results earlier in R1 this will allow you to plan better. We will be conducting webinars and do join us on these. Also, we could schedule a telephonic conversation, if you need more details. We are also conducting info sessions on 24th, 26th and 30th May in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai respectively. You may check the following webpage for more information on info-sessions - http://www.iimb.ernet.in/epgp/?Ref=IIMBsite

Rajiv Sathyanarayan from EPGP batch 2015- 16 has shared tips and tricks for IIMB EPGP interview, based on his experience last year. Rajiv holds a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering and has over nine years of experience in technology consulting for retail sector.
Interview Tips A salient feature of the EPGP admission interview at IIM Bangalore is - you’re the master of how your interview shapes up. In order for you to be able to demonstrate that you’re the right fit in the 10-30 minutes you get with the panel, you must work well in advance.
A typical interview will start off with introductions (Tell me about yourself), followed by questions about your job, career progression, key achievements at your job and why you chose to get into an MBA program now and how IIM Bangalore is a good fit. However, this is just a rule and there are ample exceptions. Some panelists may throw a googly at you as soon as you start, trying to unsettle you in order to gauge your reaction. Note how the interview is structured similar to the MBA essay / statement of purpose you write for most B-schools.
To be a master of your interview and drive it in the direction you want to, you must start your preparations early. One of the strongest ways to put across a strong candidature is to be clear, concise and consistent in the documents you submit to your B-school: your application, your Curriculum Vitae, and your essays. Make sure you bring out your strengths, key accomplishments (both work and non-work related) and hobbies in the application. This will not only give the right information to the admission panel, but also help you drive the interview in the direction you’re most comfortable with. Further, since getting into an MBA program after over 5 years of work experience is a major decision, make sure you’ve done your introspection into where you see yourself 5/10 years from now, and how an MBA from IIM Bangalore can help you achieve your goals.
