Does anyone else feel that the Quant sections of the Manhattan GMAT CAT sections are much more difficult than the problems in the OG book?
I've rarely missed a Hard question when doing the mid-book and final quizzes, yet feel dumbfounded when tackling some of the Quant questions in the CAT exams. On my most recent CAT exams I've averaged 43-45 but am looking to achieve a 49/50 on the GMAT (80%+ of the questions were oddly in the 700-800 range). I've searched around and it does seem like the MGMAT CAT's are more difficult than the actual GMAT but would love to hear from anyone with similar experience, specifically in regards to the Quant section.

Its not just feeling but confirmation that Manhattan Quant section is much difficult than real one. I have such personal experience, while i got a Q48 in GMAT Prep got Q44 in Manhattan CAT. Normally Manhattan Quant shows raw score 2-3 points lower than the real one. Don't worry about Manhattan less score and just carry on you prep.

True. But don't quit practicing on harder question. It will make you more confident in your official test. Training in harder topics will teach you wonderful shortcuts that would save your time in the exam.
Frankly speaking, I agree that MGMAT tests have much harder questions than the official mock tests. However, I solved all the MGMAT CATS and found that - My score gradually improved as I attempted one CAT after another. - I rarely got a question wrong in the official mocks. - On exam day, as the question got harder and harder, I didn’t face any problem whatsoever as I had practice solving hard questions. Personally, I found that questions that came up on exam day were harder than official mock tests but easier then MGMAT CATS.
So my advice would be that you should continue solving MGMAT CATS. It doesn’t matter if you get a lower score. No need to get discouraged.Just keep going. It’ll help out in the long run. Cheers
