Congratulations to everyone with interview invites! Looks like we have another solid round shaping up for GMATclub at Oxford... :wave

No surprises here, but I finally sent out my withdrawal for Said this week - so that officially ends my journey of MBA applications! Oddly enough, I still haven't received my admit package -- though I'm also missing my Australian health insurance card (which was sent out around the same time as well). So I think someone at Australia Post had a few too many beers on the job... :?

Yeah, we have postal service and even electricity over here now! No more hand-crank generators to post on GMATclub anymore... :P

Would any of the R1 Interviewees care to share their interview experiences? Seems like there's a pretty definate split between 'why an MBA, why now' type of questions and more pointed economics questions.

Thanks!

My interview was an even split of both topic areas, though that was likely because the industry for one of my post-MBA career goals was making headlines in the USA around the time of the interview.

The first set of questions were specifically about my work experience and resume, but my interviewer also asked more general questions about the industries I worked in (in more of a debate structure -- to find out why I or my companies took certain decisions). He also asked about my thoughts on the aforementioned news about one of my targeted industries. The next set of questions were the standard "Why MBA/Why now/etc" types of questions. Finally, he spent some time explaining the college system in detail, and some of the other aspects of the program.

All,

have any R2 interview candidates been given their interview details (interviewer, date, time) yet?

No questions on what colleges I selected or why I chose them. I think my interviewer only had my resume (and not my full application), so that might be the reason.

It may take some time, especially if there were more applications in R2. It took about 1.5 weeks for my interview date/time to be finalized in R1, so I would probably confirm with the office only if you haven't heard anything by the end of this week or early next week.

Just got a ding from judge ... Quite upsetting ... I went through my app and I really would not even know how to improve it.

Aah bugger...

Looking in this thread only pathfinder has been successful. I wonder if there was something unique or just more experience ...

So sorry to hear, Amit05 and Sumidi...
But don't let this shatter your confidence. Judge is very selective this year; more so than even LBS and INSEAD. And they are indeed looking for uniqueness, in a sense... as far as this uniqueness will not endanger their future 'job found' statistics. Length of experience does not matter that much: I've seen people with more than 10 years of WE as well as about 3 y. of WE who were interviewed and subsequently got admits.

I don't think they will give you a feedback. Those wl-ed didn't get a feedback either (or, at least, I didn't).

Sorry to hear that Amit and Sumidi,

soldier on! I did after my JBS semi-ding. As for my status, I haven't received anything from JBS as yet. For those of you who don't know, I was placed on the interview waitlist in R1 (oct).
