wow, lots of discussion on the thread today, which is always good.
I don't think it was that horrid. Some Oxford interviewers (typically faculty) are renowned for curveball questions to view the reaction of candidates. I am sure it was one of this curveball and the combination of your thoughts running wild in the post-interview waiting phase.

Reading this was like replaying my interview experience back to me. I felt great walking out of the interview - maybe it was the endorphins that one gets on a big occasion. However as time has passed (4 weeks in total), I have gone from calculated optimism to shaky pessimism. whatever happens, I know I couldn't have done this Oxford app any more justice. So fingers crossed and have fun diving!

Yeah, I don't remember how I made my college choices, but I'm sure that was one of the reasons.

With the GBP's performance lately, hopefully the exchange rate was favorable for you. I paid my second deposit a few weeks ago, and while it wasn't the best USD-GBP rate, it was better than the rate now (with the USD dropping this week).

Good luck to all of the R2 admits! I agree with buff on the interviews -- I know it's difficult to resist analyzing every aspect of your interview, but you likely did do better than you thought. I remember reading an article that quoted the admissions director of Wharton saying that most candidates tend to worry about small things that the interviewer probably didn't even notice anyway (especially since they interview so many candidates).
