Hi Guys!

Sorry I'm late to the party. I discovered GMAT club only a few days back after I had turned in all my apps. Kinda a blessing in disguise because I would've freaked out seeing all the GMAT scores here.

Anyway, to answer some questions that are going around.

Target schools : HBS (dinged without interview), Sloan, Kellogg (interviewed), Tuck (interviewed), Booth(scheduled to interview) and Wharton

UG : BITS (9.2/10, not sure how that translates into a scale of 4)
Grad : UCLA (3.7/4)
GMAT : 730 (Q49 V40) - really not spectacular for this demographic.

WE : 54mo in a big semiconductor firm, worked in a few locations in the US and a short stint in Europe.
Extras : Non profit board member for the last years and I also founded a learning non-profit/discussion community in Boston. Played basketball for the university team.

I'm glad to have some invites/interviews but am hoping for a few more considering how competitive this demographic is.

I'm happy to share any other info, and hoping that you all get into schools of your choice!
Cheers

Congrats on the interview invites. I think now it is safe to say that your GMAT is good enough, since one of the biggest reasons Indian applicants need a higher GMAT is to get shortlisted for an interview. After that I'm sure what matters more is the interview performance.

Good luck for the rest of the season. :)

Anybody here heard from Kellogg after the first wave?

My friend with a similar background (female) heard back from Yale last night. So Yale is game over for me.

Not sure how this works but maybe you are aware based on past trends... Do all Yale India invites go out in one go? Maybe it is staggered? And when are the Yale interviews scheduled any idea?

I saw the Yale interview invite in promotions folder while frantically searching for the booth one, around 9th October. The interview slots are from 6-10 November.

Congratulations. Yeah Yale always gets to Promotions for some reason. Hope your interview goes well. Yale dings the people it doesn’t want to interview around 1st Nov.

Thanks for your update and congratulations!! Good luck for the weeks ahead :)

Fun fact - the Yale SOM India receptions are in the same week - 6 to 10 November.

Ok so at the cost of being repetitive - you got your invite on 9th October and souvik101990's friend got it yesterday. So it does seem to be staggered and not region based or whatever.

It could be region based on different cities. But I am moving on to other schools. It was not fun while it lasted.

Just as an FYI - I don't mean to add an extra post here for kicks - based on the entries on the Clear Admit LiveWire, I saw 2 interview invites for Yale SOM. One from Delhi and one from Mumbai - on 18th and 17th October respectively.

There is hope!

So how many here got an invite from MIT Sloan. I know 2 people for sure and 1 from bangladesh whose interview location is New Delhi. Is it safe to consider that MIT is done with India?

With video essays and similar submissions, Business Schools will increasingly be selective about whom they want to meet in person. If they don't like the look and feel of me, I am "meh" to them.

You don't need a consultant to conclude that.

So let's just move on. I am applying MIT in R2 , stiff odds, but I would not cry over being dinged . My rejects devirginised me adequately for the schools to come .

I am still going to put up the best essay or video I can .

Do we have to book a slot somewhere for that UNC-KF info session in Delhi. Any leads would be appreciated.
