Agree about Booth and Haas. But Sloan interviews only a select handful.
Hoping that Ross would share some good news in next 2 days.

I have a question
A seemingly important one.
For the people who claim to be reapplying,
Did you get rejected the first time with those scores and profile?
[FLUSHED FACE][DIZZY FACE][SEE-NO-EVIL MONKEY]
770 n decent profiles and still rejection?

I thought Booth's post interview acceptance rate was in line with that of others. 50-60%. Not true?

I think there was one with the username Mayra. Saw it on the chat. Other than that, I don't think so.

Hi Guys

Without going into the demographics, the profile and the like: Delhi-based prospective grad-school applicant.

signed up with a consultant but unable to continue applying now, due to various personal reasons.

Paid in excess of $5,000 up-front, but couldn't move forward in the process (ref. Line 3 above).

In case any of you ready to take up my spot on the roster, I get a refund.

Happy to talk to you over PM.

Luck with your applications and beyond.

Best
'A'

Yes - the Indian demographic is a tough one, but each one of you has a unique story that you should draw upon in the applications...that is what will set you apart! Here is a blog post on this topic: The Key to a Successful Business School Application.

Anybody here got an invite from Stanford yet? I haven't heard of any Indian getting an interview invite and it is very less likely that a huge number of invites will be sent out in last 3 days. Is this a bad year for Indians at Stanford?

As a consultant based out of India, I understand that everyone wants of target the top 10 B schools. I appreciate that we all should aim high however we should also realise that at this level a high GMAT score on it self is not going to help. I usually ask my students, why they want to target the top 10 school and they standard response is the ranking.

What no one focuses is the post MBA goal (i noticed a lot of post here missed out on the same point) and how of the school fit in with them. Having worked with the interview team of my university, we use to go through a lot of applications. The ones with a clear precise goal mentioned always stood out.

As a consultant I have had student who got through to the top schools with lower GMAT scores because their goals and schools were aligned and put across in a crisp story format rather than just an essay. If you would like to go through some off their stories do ping me.

Vijay

Hi any interview invites after waiver from Kellogg? Or is it time to drop it completely? Also, anybody has any idea when the latest invites after waiver went out last year, when should one assume the case is closed?

770 and a decent profile means nothing unless post MBA goal are sound and well researched. Lets assume a marketing analyst with 3 years of ex from an Ecom applies to a school with a 750 claiming a post MBA short term goal to be a consultant at the big four. Now though he is an analyst working for the marketing department, his role would mainly be collecting and identifying trends in data. He is not interpreting the data nor creating strategies around them. Now if his UG is not a Management course he would be looking into strategies for the first time thus expecting to grow into a consultant right after an MBA in not logical
