Guys I am somewhat curious and somewhat worried and I would really appreciate your input. I sat for my GMAT last year and got 90 percentile score at the time. Now when I ordered the score report last week to be sent to LBS, my percentile has dropped to 88. (1% in Verbal, 2% in Quant). On the application I stated my scores from the old (last year) score report I had, meaning 90th percentile. Am I going to get kicked out?

No, everyone does this. If the scores are self-reported, they know the percentages will drop. You have know way to know the percentages other than what was given to you when you got your score. Your score is your score still and it's a fine one.

I agree with highhopes. I really don't think it should be a problem.

ok one small thing that I may have not clarified: They already admitted me and I have paid 25% of the total fee. Wouldn't they argue that when we admitted you we saw your scores as self-reported on the application i-e 90 percentile and now your official report comes in, which states the score to be 88 percentile.

Percentile Rankings
The percentile rank of your score shows you the percentage of test takers who scored lower than you for the most recent three-year period. Every year, each test taker’s score is updated with the most recent year’s percentiles.

Using a combination of GMAT scores, transcripts, work experience, essays, and interviews, admissions professionals strive to build strong, cohesive cohorts each year. Comparing each individual GMAT score with the most recent three years of test takers gives them a more complete picture of the b-school applicant pool.

Example
You achieve a total score of 690, putting you in the 88th percentile. This tells you—and the schools you choose—that your total score and skill level are greater than or equal to 88% of all GMAT test takers over the last three years.

Note: GMAT scores are valid for five years. Even though your score won’t change, your percentile ranking might change when compared with a newer pool of applicants.

You must not worry about the percentile change since you have not done anything unfair here.
And I guess the college admission guys might already be aware of this.(Of course!!!)

Moreover , they also use the same portal (the one you used to download the report) to check the scores of the candidates.
So , there are very few chances of this getting noticed.
