Hi there!
I'll be applying for the following programs:
- Harvard 2+2
- Stanford Deferred
If there are any consultants with experience in this area, please feel free to reach out. I haven't been able to speak to many 2+2/deferred applicants from my area!
Profile:- Background: Japanese/New Zealand male (Dual citizen)
- GMAT: 760
- Uni: University of Auckland
- Degree: Economics and Law (BEc/LLB) (Dual degree)
- Exchange: Asia for one semester and Americas for one semester
- GPA: Final year student, but will graduate with honours and distinction (funnily enough, this converts to 3.55/4.0)
Work experience- Full time position lined up as a lawyer at a non-US top-tier law firm (Magic Circle)
- Working on an online tech startup started this year (early days but $20k projected revenue for 6 months)
- Summer internships with Deloitte S&O, Morgan Stanley IBD in Sydney, Australia
Extracurriculars- Pilot's licence
- Raised by a single mother; we've been cleaning small commercial offices to get by
- Other standard ECs that people have
- Numerous volunteering placements (think refugees, community legal centres etc)
I'm not too sure whether my expectations are too high. Law to MBA doesn't seem to be that common. It'd just be great to get a confirmed place so I could work as a lawyer and focus on my startup knowing I'll be able to transition into business, without having to jump ship into management consulting or investment banking.
Any response would be really well appreciated!
