I think the answer is D, Although I'm not completely sure,

B&C were the options that i looked into as the others can straight away be eliminated

Plutonium and U235 result from the nuclear interchange of energies between U238 with neutrons to produce extreme radiation and high temperatures.

(A) with neutrons to produce extreme radiation and high temperatures(b/w X with Y is wrong, correct use is b/w X and Y)

(B) with neutrons producing extreme radiation and high temperatures(same as in A)

(C) and neutrons which has produced extreme radiation and high temperatures(correct)

(D) and neutrons which have produced extreme radiation and high temperatures(use of plural is not correct as correct antecedent of pronoun is the nuclear interchange)

(E) and neutrons and are associated with extreme radiation and high temperatures produced by the interchange(meaning issue)

Choice C is correct

Please correct if I am wrong.
Thanks

Is the use of 'which' correct in C and D?
My bet us on E, however awkward it may sound.

MANHATTAN REVIEW OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:

This question has to do with usage of the preposition ‘between’. If you use ‘between’ you need to use ‘and’. Eliminate A and B. ‘Which’ in C and D refers to the interchange. However, it is placed next to ‘neutrons’, meaning that grammatically it refers to ‘neutrons’. This is incorrect. The tense in C and D is also incorrect. The earlier part of the sentence is in the simple present tense and the latter part should be also. Choice E is the correct answer.

Plutonium and U235 result from the nuclear interchange of energies between U238 with neutrons to produce extreme radiation and high temperatures.

(A) with neutrons to produce extreme radiation and high temperatures : Between A and B. This option means nuclear interchange of energies between U238 and high temperatures. Meaning wise high temperatures can not have nuclear energies (Though not sure of Physics) : Option is wrong for meaning.

(B) with neutrons producing extreme radiation and high temperatures : Error same as in A

(C) and neutrons which has produced extreme radiation and high temperatures : Has is wrong because 'neutrons'.Again in meaning neutrons ,on their own, can't produce radiation & high temperature.

(D) and neutrons which have produced extreme radiation and high temperatures : Meaning issue as in C

(E) and neutrons and are associated with extreme radiation and high temperatures produced by the interchange : Correct

Plutonium and U235 result from the nuclear interchange of energies between U238 and neutrons which produces extreme radiations and high temperatures.

Is this version correct ? Just for my understanding ?

(A) with neutrons to produce extreme radiation and high temperatures
Use of "with" is unidiomatic. It should be replaced by "and".

(B) with neutrons producing extreme radiation and high temperatures
Use of "with" is unidiomatic. It should be replaced by "and".

(C) and neutrons which has produced extreme radiation and high temperatures
Using "which" illogically modifies neutrons and hence results in a twisted meaning.

(D) and neutrons which have produced extreme radiation and high temperatures
Using "which" illogically modifies neutrons and hence results in a twisted meaning.

(E) and neutrons and are associated with extreme radiation and high temperatures produced by the interchange
CORRECT. Here "and are associated..." correctly points to "Plutonium and U235"

I don't think so. "Which" is never supposed to appear without a comma.
