Re: Calling all McCombs(UT Austin) Applicants: (2018 Intake) Class of 2020 [#permalink]
I did my interview in Shanghai with an alum back in November, it's been a while now, I don't remember most specific questions.

But all the questions are regular ones, walk me through your resume, why MBA, why now, why McCombs.

One interesting question was what have you learned from your application process.

My interviewer was very serious and critical, he followed up on a few issues he thought wasn't clear.

Generally it was conversational, but do get your stories straight, present very specific career goals and exactly what you were looking for in McCombs.

Good luck to all R2 applicants!

They are still reviewing the applications and will keep sending out the invites. Don't lose hope and I don't think anyone has received decision notification for R2 applications.
All decisions will be sent out by end of March. Good luck

Had my interview in Austin yesterday with a second year student. Very conversational. Walked through resume, that led into my "why MBA" which flowed into "why McCombs". Then he asked me what else I would get involved in on campus (again conversational as this led to talking about his experiences in those organizations) and a leadership example. Lastly left a good 25 minutes for questions. It was a full 1 hour interview. They say this in the email but I figured it might actually be closer to the 30 minutes like other interviews, but no it was an hour and went by fast. Good luck.

I had my Skype interview with a 2nd year student . It was very conversational and lasted close to an hour

1. Tell me about yourself
2. Walk me through your resume and tell me what you've learned
3. Why McCombs and how would you contribute to it
4.Short term goal and long term goal
5.I time when you received criticism and how you responded
6.What have you learned about your self through the application process
7. Any questions me ?

Hope this helps .

So I applied at McCombs during Round 2 on 8th January. Portal is showing my status as "In Review". Yet to receive any call or email from the committee.

Should I be concerned and get in touch with them or wait it out till the notification deadline? Thanks.

Same boat, even I haven't heard anything. Seems like it's a dinge.
