Hi all. The same is the situation with me. I hit the submit button an hour ago but there is no way I can make the payment before the R2 deadline. I have written to the GIAC Let us see what they reply. Meanwhile did anyone receive response from GIAC/Adcom about this issue

Yes I did receive a reply from them. They mentioned that as long as the application is submitted within deadline, it will be considered in Round 2.

All the best mate!

This is a relief...I am also in the same boat although I was kinda sure that not paying the fees before the deadline isn't going to impact application submission status or else they would have mentioned this on their application process explicitly. If their payment link takes 24 hours to show up then technically the application submission deadline would have been Jan 8th and not Jan 9th, but that's not the case.

I am too waiting for the payment link to show up on my UTDirect Dashboard. I will pay the fees as soon as the link shows up.

Thanks for getting the clarification though.

I didn’t and I was admitted with a full scholarship. I also did a written essay not video. I believe when they say optional they truly mean optional.

I should be able to apply for a waiver since i am a former UT student, but am unsure how the process works. I was just told not to pay when prompted by the email. Was there a process that I was to apply? or will it be automatically waived due to my status as a former student. please advice.

You know what would be nice that schools with rolling interviews don't do? Let you know if you weren't invited. Obviously they will have looked at your application and said no invite extended but they don't let you know for potentially months. I wonder why that is?

The school was closed today because of the weather, but who knows what'll happen in the next few days. Good luck, comrades!

Just wait to see if your youtube video has been viewed. Then you'll know quickly if your app has been reviewed.
