I just had my Skype interview with a 2nd year student yesterday, and overall I think it went okay. Some unexpected questions but in general it was more of a conversation. Here are some of the questions in case others are wondering:
- Walk me through your resume and tell me what you've learned
- Why McCombs
- Tell me a time when you had a conflict with your superior/colleague
- If there's one thing that you'd like to tell us about yourself, what would it be
- Tell me a time when you worked in a diverse setup
- Tell me a time when you were a leader
- How would you contribute to the class and what would you be interested in joining at McCombs
- Tell me a time you had to prioritize work
- Short term goal, long term goal and plan B
- What did you learn about yourself through the application process
- Which other schools have you applied to and where does McCombs sit among your preferences
- Example of a time when you solved a problem

Hope this helps, and best of luck to y'all!

Which method of interview are you guys choosing? I'm not sure if on-campus, alumni interview, or skype works better

I did my interview in Shanghai with an alum back in November, it's been a while now, I don't remember most specific questions.

But all the questions are regular ones, walk me through your resume, why MBA, why now, why McCombs.

One interesting question was what have you learned from your application process.

My interviewer was very serious and critical, he followed up on a few issues he thought wasn't clear.

Generally it was conversational, but do get your stories straight, present very specific career goals and exactly what you were looking for in McCombs.

Good luck to all R2 applicants!

They are still reviewing the applications and will keep sending out the invites. Don't lose hope and I don't think anyone has received decision notification for R2 applications.
All decisions will be sent out by end of March. Good luck

Had my interview in Austin yesterday with a second year student. Very conversational. Walked through resume, that led into my "why MBA" which flowed into "why McCombs". Then he asked me what else I would get involved in on campus (again conversational as this led to talking about his experiences in those organizations) and a leadership example. Lastly left a good 25 minutes for questions. It was a full 1 hour interview. They say this in the email but I figured it might actually be closer to the 30 minutes like other interviews, but no it was an hour and went by fast. Good luck.
