Some Alphas are not Gammas.
All Betas are Gammas.

Which of the following conclusions can be deduced from the two statements above?

(A) Some Alphas are not Betas.
Correct. Since all Beta are gamma and some Alpha are not gamma thus we can say that some Alpha are not Beta.

(B) No Gammas are Alphas.
Can't say

(C) All Gammas are Betas.
We just know the opposite. Incorrect

(D) All Alphas are Gammas.
Some Alpha are not gamma. Thus incorrect.

(E) Some Alphas are Gammas.
This is known from the passage. Thus can't be conclusion

I think it should be E, because A is not a definite conclusion.
All betas are gammas could mean:
1. The set Betas and the set Gammas, are equal/same.
2. The set betas is a subset of the set Gammas.

In case of No. 2, it is possible for the set betas to not overlap with the set Alphas, thus rendering Option A invalid.

alphas and gammas can be mutually exclusive.So answer can never be E. :)

Careful--you've assumed E in drawing your diagrams. It's also possible for A and G not to intersect, so E is out. An important fact about "some" is that it does not preclude "all." It just means > 0. So I could say "some dogs are mammals." This is true, even though of course ALL dogs are mammals. If it were not, we'd have the negation--NO dogs are mammals, and we know that's false.
