A) Weakens: If she manipulated the salt levels to the lower minimum range, then there was more room (i.e. more time) for the salinity to change but still stay within the range -> INCORRECT

Kara owns Salt-water tank, which evaporates water and leaves behind salt after a period of time
Kara replenishes with water to maintain level (or gets it back to its usual form)

observation:
she had a 9 days honeymoon, where she wasn't home, leaving the tank unattended, after coming back she noticed that salinity levels increased as per the above facts but were well within acceptable levels

Kara then turns into a causal pattern person concluding, that it was ok for some days to leave the tank unattended, so even if she goes to the business meeting for some days (planned), it should be fine

we need to support her causal nature and also that her plan would work

During the honeymoon (9 days), Kara left the tank unattended, during which the salinity increased but stayed within safe limits.

She is planning on taking a business trip and assumes that she can leave the tank unattended as nothing bad happened the first time.

We have to find the strengthener.

A) weakener, this says that the honeymoon situation was manipulated using extra water. Reject

B) her business trip will end in stipulated time. Still doesn’t help our case as such. Ur could be the case that it ends in stipulated time but salinity level increases. Reject.

C) fish are stressed by changes in salinity. Doesn’t strengthen at all

D) strong weakener. If she is now living in a place where water evaporated even quickly, the danger is more that it won’t match her honeymoon situation.

E) salt now crystallises on the aquarium walls instead of being dissolved. Good strengthener. Shows that salinity may not rise.

Since if her days are not extended beyond the planned, she will return in 7 days or early compared to her honeymoon of 9 days and her tank unattneded for such days will not endanger the fish due to water evaporation.

A=This is not strengthening the arg, infact its just a fact or premise

A. The conclusion is that since in the past the salinity didn't increase, it wont increase now also. This answer choice just says that the salinity is at its minimum level.Conclusion is about increase in salinity. This neighter strengthens nor weakens. Eliminate.
B. The premis already mentions the caveat that 'if the business trip doesnt extend'. Hence Irrelevant.
C. "Many" just means more than 1. Hence it could be very few fish talked about. Eliminate.
D. This may weaken if anything.

B- Just because it happened earlier doesn't guarantee that the same will happen this time

C- This talks about the hazards faced when the water is being replenished and not when the water is the same for a long period of time

i am going with option e.
as it states salinity rises more slowly now which strengthens the argument.
a incorrect - started with unusually low salinity which weakens the argument.
b incorrect - only supports trip won't be extended which is the not the best among the options.
c incorrect - adds another risk so weakens the argument.
d incorrect - faster evaporation hence weakens the argument.

I'll just write down my thinking process

Reasoning:
She's left the aquarium unattended before for 9 days so this time it shouldn't be a problem unless the trip exceeds the planned dates.

Option elimination and then selection:

A: Could be, let's hold on to this one

B: We don't need an assurance over trip time, because her reasoning is that if she can make it back in time, the fish will be fine.

C: if the fish is left alone for a few days, the salt wont drop rapidly but gradually, thus irrelevant.

D: Weakens the reasoning. She can't leave them alone for 9 days like last time as the rate of evaporation has changed!

E: Strengthens the argument but has a loophole, what if the rate of salt crystallization is greater than the concentration of salt by evaporation of water. Leading to a salt deficit??

Thus I chose A as i didn't have a reason to eliminate it but the answer might be E. Let's see
