Hi Guys, I have a very generic question.

I was giving a section-wise test for PS on the GMAT Club tests. Even though I did complete all 21 Questions, it shows that I only did 20 and missed 1 (last question).

I had completed the last question with 10-12 seconds remaining, hence, I’m sure I did not miss any questions.

Can anyone help in explaining this?

P.S. One thing I could think of is that when I was done with the last question I had around 10 seconds remaining. I did not submit the test myself, rather I waited for the timer to run out and for the test to end automatically.

Is that why it shows that I missed the last question?

Thanks for the help :D

Thanks for the question.

Did you get to the review screen or were you on the last question itself?

As 105 is a 3 digit no. I will also be included in answer, Kindly find nos till 98 and then subtract from 142.,
You will get the no of 3 digit nos. i.e., D.128

I was on the last question itself. I chose the option I wanted to go with after solving it and at that point I had 10 seconds left. So I just waited for the timer to run out.
just as a head’s up, or for future ref, on the actual GMAT exam, just making a selection on the last question of the section qualifies as an answer. You needn’t go to the review screen.

I thought 1- n*s/r but it’s not in the answer. What’s wrong with my logic? Out of total boxes, n has been filled. So 1-n *s/r?
I’d rather check units than solving the actual question. Saves a lot of time but one needs to be careful. In this question, only E gives an answer in number of boxes. Rest are illogical units.

I have a question why are the pair of pants independent?
Because they are two different items. One is a short pair of pants and one is a long pair of pants. (I may have misunderstood your question!)
Anjali_1453
Can someone explain this question
a = 169^(1/2) OR square root of 169......Remember, root of a positive number will always be the principal square root, i.e., positive (and not both + and -). For all purposes, we 4^(1/2) or square root of 4 should always be considered as 2 and not "2 and -2"........In the question, a = 169^(1/2) = 13 [169 is 13 squared]......b^2 = 144. Here b can be both -12 and +12. [(b^2) - 144 = 0 has two roots!].....so a = 13, b = 12 or -12. Therefore, a + b = 13 + 12 = 25 OR a + b = 13 + (-12) = 1. Answer (B)
   1  ...  290   291   292   293   294  ...  677
