Need approach to solve this q
Select one of the 5 couples....then select one of the 4 remaining men....then select one of the 3 remaining women (Out of the 5 women, 1 was selected as a couple and 1 is his wife, so cannot be selected [exactly 1 couple is to be selected])......5C1 * 4C1 * 3C1 = 60....I think C should be the answer

hey, here is my way of reflexion. You pick one couple, so on the four seats (mens and womens chosen), two of them has to be a couple (so one chance each out of the five mens and womens). Then, you have to pick anyone for the third seat (so four chances still) knowning that the last seats can’t be the third person’s partner. Also, You have to include that there are five couples so 5 ways of doing what i did, and we finally finish with the calcul: 1x1x4x3(who to pick in a good way)x5(number of possibilities)=60.

Let me know if this way is clean, wish to everybody good studies

C, select one couple, we have 2 spots left. the two spots need to be one man and one woman that are NOT in a couple. we can select 4 of the remaining man. the woman in the couple with the man selected cannot be selected (or else we have 2 couple and not exactly one), thus we can select other 3 woman. Therefore we have 5 possible ways to select a couple, 4 possible ways to select a man, 3 possible ways to select a woman.

5*4*3 = 60

Can’t see why. Neither mathematically nor logically. What is the source?

60

Out of 10 people, 1 couple is sure, so 2 places gone 8 remaing.
Out if 8 , 4 men and 4 women.
If we select one women, we cant select her husband so we can select remaing 3 men. Likewise for every ither women we can sect ither 3 men.
So 3+3+3+3 = 12 ways.
Now one couple we selected at start can be any couple from 5 couple.
So total combinations are 5*12=60 ways
