Hey,

Thanks for your attention. I am a Data Engineer at Epam with 1.8 year of experience (Indian Male). I want to do MBA from one of these universities Insead, ISB, Kellog. I have 2 years in my hand to build strong profile. I am looking for some mentorship even if its paid.

Grad : 80 %

No Extracurriculam activities but I am going to join clean india enviourment group and will work on weekends with them. I am also providing support to those facing anxiety or depression.

Also I going to start a bussiness but not sure if it will work or not. So Is this is good step or should I remain in my job.

Thanks in advance.

(Lets ignore gmat for now)

madhur0899 Hope this finds you well. I am an INSEAD alumna and have interviewed INSEAD MBA candidates and guided candidates to other top global schools extensively before starting my own admissions consulting practice. It’s good that you have clarity on the pedigree of schools that you wish to target for an MBA. Now you should work towards fulfilling your goals. There’s nothing that can even come close to speaking with those who have followed a similar trajectory that you aspire to. Feel free to connect with me to understand how you can best build your profile in the next two years. I will be happy to share some insider tips on what adcoms really look for in candidates at each of the three schools on your target list and even give you a realistic picture on the opportunities out of each of these programs.

Hello madhur0899

With the tight competition for MBA admissions globally, sometimes just scoring great on the GMAT?GRE tests is not enough. Especially, the top B-schools mentioned above have thousands of aspirants.
Building a top B-school-worthy application takes time, effort, planning, and skill. It might seem like a daunting task however, if you have a clear strategy and expert help, it is not that difficult too.

Starting a new business and community service will certainly add more weight to your chances for any program across the globe, but it will not be sufficient to make a strong profile to showcase your skills. They tend to incline towards candidates with a good and consistent academic record. However, you don’t need to stress too much over the academic track record if yours is not that great. You can always compensate for it with an exceptional GMAT/GRE score or other career/personal achievements.

You need to keep your professional achievements, success stories, and lessons handy, as you definitely will have to recite some of these stories either in your essays or interviews. You need to have clear long term and short term career goals. You would have to explain how an MBA would help you achieve these goals and how an MBA at this point will help your career.

What can you do:

You need to :
Note down all the points you want to express.
Prioritize them in order of importance and relevance.
Write the essay with a natural flow and flare.
Proofread and review multiple times.

How you build your application can make or break your chances of getting a seat in your dream B-school.

All the best for your applications!

Hey madhur0899,

That's fantastic you're setting your sights on an MBA! With 1.8 years as a Data Engineer at Epam, you're off to a strong start. Two years is a great runway to build a profile that shines for INSEAD, ISB, and Kellogg.

Your strengths are clear: Epam is a top company, and data engineering is a hot field. Plus, your volunteer work with the Clean India Environment Group and supporting those with anxiety/depression is truly commendable. These experiences showcase leadership, social responsibility, and a well-rounded character – all qualities these programs value highly.

Track the results of your volunteer work. Did you organize a successful clean-up drive with measurable impact? Did your support system demonstrably improve the lives of others? Quantifying your achievements shows initiative and impact.

While starting a business can be exciting, consider focusing on solidifying your core skills and refining your business idea further before diving in full-time. An MBA can equip you with the tools and network to launch later on.

This is just a glimpse into the possibilities! To get a truly personalized plan and understand how to position yourself for these top programs best, consider scheduling a free 1:1 call with alums and currents students of top B-schools. They can provide tailored advice and help you identify the perfect program to launch your dream career.
