Hi all.
Hi @zzhangho- great question! You may want to lead with the strength of the 331 GRE- I can see you presenting your strongest case with that option. I think for your pool of US male- there isn't really a pool for US domestic Asian males as a general admissions rule- only US domestic and the place where you live-- so the 710 while not off the charts is still solid but I agree the GRE may present you in the best light so I would go with that. The rest of your profile looks good- be sure to have some well researched answers for why you are targeting Tuck, Cornell and Duke as that will help you stand out from the crowd.
I have High-Tech/Operation/Manufacturing Supply Chain professional background in a well-known company (~4yrs by matriculation), imagine fortune 50 (it might be 10)

And I have EE/CE bachelor & master degrees with ~3.5 for both. I'm considering 1) jumping to consulting in operations/manufacturing supply chain or 2) returning to high-tech but in a PM role
(FYI, I'm US domestic asian male applicant)

I took both GRE and GMAT.

I have GRE 331 (Q170-97% V161-88% AWA4), which is 750 accoring to ETS conversion tool, and GMAT 710 (Q51-98% V34-71% AWA5.5).

I'm considering applying to few top 10 and few top 15 this year. (Tuck, Cornell & Duke)

As I did NOT perform well on GMAT verbal as I would like to have (compared to GRE verbal), should I simply apply with GRE only? or Both?

Thanks in advance for the feedback(s)!

A few additional thoughts on this zzhangho:
  1. We did some analysis on GRE Vs GMAT which is worth reading. All things considered, I would definitely recommend going ahead with the GRE score.
  2. Your other profile parameters however are not very clear. Not sure for instance about the brand of your educational pedigree? The other thing to delve deeper into is the exact nature of your work - currently not clear that either. At a very high level though, your strategy looks pretty decent and worth going forward with.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Thanks. That definitely helped! For now, I will simply stick to GRE only.

To give bit more info about myself: my undergrad and grad are from top5 engineering schools. (NOT UCB/MIT/STAN)

Thanks tons for your advice!

One more question: I assume US permanent resident living in the States is considered as US domestic student, correct?
