Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out! A couple of thoughts on your profile:
- Consulting experience with Deloitte is great, particularly given your technical undergrad focus and first few jobs after undergrad. It shows that you also have a strategic business mindset in addition to your tech skillset. I think the adcom would love to see your promotion to Consultant since that is the typical time in the Deloitte career path that folks pursue an MBA. Having one promotion under your belt will also go a long way in providing evidence of leadership and career progression.
- If you decide to apply as a Business Analyst, the adcom will likely look to your ECs for additional evidence of leadership and impact so you’ll want to make sure those are strong.
- GMAT score range is a bit on the low side for a lot of the schools on your list. I would encourage you to aim for a 720+ for Wharton, Sloan, Cornell, and the like. It’s not that you shouldn’t apply to those schools with a 680-700 but it will be more challenging. If you have the bandwidth to aim higher, why not?
- Your post-MBA goals are where you’ll want to get a lot more specific. Communicating a fairly specific vision for your career in the long-term and what that looks like in a post-graduation role are critical pieces of a successful MBA application. So don’t think only about what you want to do, but why and what you hope to achieve in doing so. If your focus is marketing, what kind of brand/product/company would you like to market and why? How has your personal and professional path led you to this goal?
I hope this gives you a few things to think about as you approach your applications! Best of luck to you!
Best,
Melody
