Work experience isn't some monolithic thing - it's not "x years of work experience = top school". There's all kinds of people with all kinds of work experiences at these top schools. Again, your job options should not be dictated by b-school chances -- they should be driven by what you actually love to do and want to do. That's it. How that impacts your chances at b-school are IRRELEVANT. If you are trying to manufacture your resume for b-school, you're living two steps ahead rather than in the present - and that can actually hamper your chances because you're too distracted by all that planning in your head that you'll play over and over about how you'll get in, what you'll do, etc. Trust me, you're not the only young person who has faced this - I've lost count with the number of college grads I've had to explain this to, and the ones who tend to "get it" end up being more accomplished anyhow because they are driven by what motivates them internally, rather than by trying to gain external validation.

At this point, it's impossible to tell you whether you have a good shot at a top school, and frankly that should not be a concern at this point.

Your adult life is a blank canvas at this point. Don't let others tell you what you should be painting.
