Hello Everyone,
I am an Indian male 28 years old and working as 2nd officer in Merchant Navy. Currently sailing on Oil Tanker ships. I have a diverse experience of sailing in different kinds of ships : Container ships, Bulk carrier ships and Oil Tanker ships. Total work exp. of 6 yrs.
10th - 68%
12th - 68%
Grad. - 71%
GMAT- 740 Q50 V40 IR 7 AWA 4.5
I have also worked in a small shipping company after my graduation for about six months as operations manager, in which I had also been given responsibilty to teach non shipping persons about the shipping operations before their employement in that company.
Active in sports during college and school days. Plenty of leadership and team work experience, which I can reflect on my essays.

High school scores don’t matter much. Your GMAT score is solid for your target schools, and will more than compensate for your GPA if it’s low (relative performance in your class).
As you might have seen, people from merchant navy do pursue MBA and make transition in their careers. Peculiarities of long forays on the sea, global trade and commerce, docking at several countries, and working with people from several nationalities (international experience can be pivotal in case of European schools) provide good fodder for your applications. Because you’re planning to make a big transition career-wise, think through career goals and how your professional experience so far provides you the transferrable skills to succeed in future. Also, if you’ve enough time, apply in R1.
Present a good application, and I think you’ve a decent shot at your target schools.
