A GMAT score of 695 (equivalent to 750 on the GMAT Classic scale) is generally competitive for the schools you've mentioned, particularly those outside the M7 range. As an international candidate Wharton, columbia will be a bit competitive but achievable with good essays. Hass, Kellogg, Darden, and Cornell fall within your GMAT range making your GMAT competitive. EC's looks fine. Your CA, CFA will be balancing your overall education arc. International work exposure will add additional value to your profile as an international student. You can demonstrate strong achievements and a compelling story through these other aspects of your application.

Hi, PRI1296

Your profile looks good and demonstrates strong academic and professional credentials, particularly with a GMAT Focus score of 695, a CA qualification, and a CFA Charterholder designation. Your work experience in top-tier investment firms, including your current role as a Senior Research Associate, highlights your expertise in equity research, stock recommendations, and interaction with senior executives. However, your undergraduate B.Com score of 60% may raise concerns, while your CA and CFA credentials help mitigate this. You can address this proactively in your application essays, explaining any context behind the lower score and focusing on your strong professional and technical qualifications demonstrating your ability to handle rigorous coursework. Your goal of becoming a portfolio manager is well-aligned with your current experience, but make sure you articulate why an MBA is necessary to reach that goal, and why you’re aiming for a role in investment management rather than staying on your current path. Looking at your profile, Chicago Booth, Columbia, and Wharton are top finance schools with high GMAT averages (720+), so your GMAT score and CFA and CA credentials may be strong assets. Berkeley Haas and Kellogg emphasize leadership and social impact, so highlighting your extracurriculars and commitment to ESG investing will be important. Schools like Darden and Cornell Johnson may be more attainable. Additionally, crafting a clear narrative around why an MBA is essential for your transition to portfolio management will be key to presenting a strong application.

Overall, a good profile. It all boils down to connecting the dots and presenting a compelling narrative. We have seen applicants with high GMAT getting dinged, so your overall application matters a lot.

If you'd like, we are happy to hop on a call sometime this week to discuss your profile in depth and your chances in further detail.

Cheers!
