Hi All,
I recently appeared for GMAT and scored 710 (Q49 V38).
My profile -
*B Tech in Electronics and Communication from Punjab Technical University with 74% marks ( not sure about the GPA).
*10th : 88.4%
*12th : 78%
*Current working with the country's largest software company as a Technology Analyst.
*A few awards from previous employer for best team player and excellent contribution.
*Volunteered with an NGO called BCF, which aims to provide better living standard to the women in rural india and took various initiatives ranging from providing basic sanitation to the people in villages to arranging switching classes for them so as to make them self sufficient.
* Volunteered with an NGO called "routes to roots" whose main aim has been to improve cultural ties between nations and promote peace and harmany specially among the high tension India-Pakistan border.
*Have won various basket ball tournaments at college and university level.
Can you suggest some B-Schools I can apply to? I am open to a complete career change after my MBA and looking for schools in America or Canada.
Also, Do u think that I should take GMAT again?
Would that help? ( though I am not in a mood to do so, but will do if there is no other option).

Thanks for sharing your background. Before we get into school selection, I'll need a bit more information. How many years of work experience do you have? Have you been promoted? How would you describe your level of responsibility/accountability (e.g. # of direct reports, financial responsibility, etc)? How involved were you at those NGOs (e.g. duration, title/role, # hours/week)? Finally, what are your goals? Without knowing your short and long-term goals, it's awfully tough to find a school that fits your profile. Looking forward to hearing back, thanks.

PFB the information that you asked for.
-) I have a work-ex of 50 months in the IT industry. Currently I am working for the largest IT player of the country.
-)I started as an intern and then was absorbed by the same company as a Software Engineer. After that I was promoted a Senior Software Engineer with the same company. Then I joined another organisation(Current) with another promotion as an IT Analyst.
-)Though officially my role isn't that of a lead but I have organised and mentored team of 8-10 people.
-) I would say I was quite active with these NGOs as i used to spend 4-5 hours each week doing such stuff.
-) So five years down the line I see my self may be as a management consultant where i get to be a part of the decision making process. I am also open to join the investment baking sector but since I do not have a finance background, I think that may be a tough shot(Please advise on this.)
