Hi avatsavirsluhem,

Just to add:
In recommendation part, it seems you are more concerned by the designation of the person. B-schools have reams of lines on why only content matters to them, and it can come from those recommenders who know you well.
You're slightly more experienced in terms of work-ex and age, and you may need to articulate why you need an MBA at this stage. That's one thing that B-schools have started looking at more and more.

Hi there,

Your profile is really good. Your work experience, GMAT Score and academics are good to apply for the B-Schools you have shortlisted above. Only MIT Sloan and Cornell Johnson seems a bit of stretch B-Schools. Regarding the recommendation, don't worry about teh designation of the person. Adcoms look after the content and work you have done.

You may also gauge your chances of getting admission to top business school by trying this amazing tool https://bit.ly/1C9o2Md

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

As others have posted, I agree that Sloan and Johnson are going to be especially tough. If you are looking to apply to one as the dream/stretch, I recommend that you apply to Johnson. Of course, this is going to take some very careful crafting of your entire application and a very focused vision of what your follow-on MBA career plans will be. A competitive application to Johnson will also include focusing on your leadership and extracurriculars, including your blog and any other creative/startup work that may separate you from the pack.

Any GMAT below 650 is going to impair your possibilities at Emory, Wisconsin, and UNC, though scores above 600 may keep you in the running. If your score approaches or crosses 700, your chances at Johnson certainly increase, though I still think Sloan would be a tough stretch.

Do you have any updates regarding your GMAT?
