Hey there good sir!
So with a 740 and you applying to Canadian schools there is NO need whatsoever for you to retake your GMAT.

You did it! You got that score you need. So just celebrate :)

For the schools you have listed, with your current profile I think you should have no problem getting in with a good application. But you DO need a story that makes sense - Why law? Why law to business? What are your proposed goals? How will you make use of your law experience? Why Canada???

Answering all of these in your essays will be vital to a successful application.

I hope this helps!
Best,
JF

Hi,

Congratulations on a good GMAT score. I agree that you don't need to attempt GMAT agaiin.. Its a good enough score to get you in anywhere in the world atleast on the GMAT aspect.

Litigation experience also will be a differentiator as it is not the most common profile. NLU background and extra curriculars also look good.

However where I get stuck is why would you want to pursue an MBA. So the challenge in my opinion is going to be in weaving a story around why an MBA fits well into your career aspirations.

I will be happy bounce ideas with you on this. Speak to me at connect@taterways.com.

I can only agree with the others: no need for a retake, what you need to do is convince the adcoms of why law and then this new career change, meaning how it all is connected, as well as why their specific school can help you get there. If you feel that’s hard to do on your own, don’t be scared to ask for professional assistance, as that can really make a huge difference!

Good luck!
