Hi Ayush,
You have a pretty impressive background with great education, work experience, extracurricular, and articulate post-MBA goals. In order to be more competitive for the top schools in the US/UK/Canada, 730 would be the score to aim for since that's the average GMAT for top schools these days. However, your 720 is VERY close, so it's not absolutely necessary to retake the GMAT if the rest of your application shines.
That said, the unknowns here are the strength of your recommendation letters and essays. While you have a great background, you belong in one of the most competitive demographics (Indian male in consulting/finance) so you will be evaluated against similarly strong candidates like yourself. Therefore, it is very important that you're able to differentiate yourself through your essays. Also keep in mind to choose recommenders who know you/your work very well and can speak highly of you.
You have a chance at top schools, and the things to work on to get there are GMAT, recommendations, and essays. If you want a free consultation for deeper analysis of your profile, feel free to drop us a line:
