GMAT score is fine for submitting the applications. Do highlight the leadership positions held in the career description.

All the Best.

Vsing, in addition to what's already mentioned, an important point to consider is the most master's programs (barring LBS MFin) are ideal for those with 0-2 years of experience. With 5+ years of experience at matriculation, you'll be a big outlier and instead, an MBA is likely to be a better fit.

On profile building, not a lot of time but do what best possible, including a potential GMAT retake if you think you can boost the score further.

Cheers,

Hi All,

My dream schools are London Business School, INSEAD, HEC & Oxford Said, ISB, NUS, NTU. I plan on taking a Master's in Financial Analysis or related courses at some of these schools. Planning on applying in the next summer intake, took original edition GMAT with score 710 (Q49 V38).
My Profile:
1. Undergraduate - BTech from a Tier 1 school in India
2. CGPA - 8.9 (with academic excellence award in 2nd year and Department All-rounder award - Position of Responsibility holder in a student organization)
3. Work Experience - ~4 years in a MNC - Data Science in Financial Field
4. Planning to build my profile in the meantime by working for a NGO, taking a few courses in Finance
Post MBA goals - Would want to go into a Finance-related field.

Vsing
Great BSchools, but "Finance-related field" is not a career goal; would be good to have greater clarity
Also, your choice of schools shows no clarity in your reasons for these choices, except for their rankings.
With a Data-Science in Financial space, you can build a compelling MBA application; my advice therefore is to shoot for your MBA applications.

Hello Vsing,
Apologies for the delayed response but we hope this finds you in time still.
A 710 on the GMAT works for most schools; however, if your are targetting INSEAD and LBS, you should be applying with a higher GMAT score particularly since you have the time to do so.
Of course, more clarity with regard to short term and long term goals will be important; we will need to be more specific about the role and how each of these schools will help further your career ambitions.
In short, you have the time to work on a set of stellar essays and further improve your GMAT score (for some of the schools) and you should focus on doing the same.
Should you wish to discuss your prospects in greater detail, please feel free to get in touch with us.
All the best!

A few points, adding to the above:
1. It'd be important to identify your career goals i.e. which domain/ subdomains within Finance, geographies (EU/ UK) etc. This would also help prioritize schools, as your profile/ work-ex would likely fit MBA programs better. Top B-schools for Finance careers can be found here
2. A higher score would help increase chances, particularly for INSEAD, LBS. Given there's still time for R1, I would suggest giving it a shot.
3. While NGO experience helps, make sure to showcase consistency and alignment to personal values in your ECs. Being involved for longer in a few activities (depth) would be more impactful than being involved in many activities over dispersed timeframes (breadth). To that end, if you'd already been involved in any ECs in the past, resuming or going deeper in those areas can help.
Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to have a deeper chat.

Arvind
