Hi everyone..
Please review my profile-

Demographics: 29 years Indian non IT male

Gmat Focus: 685(Q90,V84,IR80)

Bachelors in Mechanical Engg: 78% from average college

Work ex: 7 years in a fortune 500 govt Company in managerial roles in Supply chain management

ECs: 
College: Executive member of clubs in college, organised events, captain of 15 member team in intercollegiate competitions, participated in numerous events etc.

Post college: Led team for conducting general elections, organising supplies during disaster, event organiser in company, Led project for raising volunteers for environment conservation etc.

Please suggest safe, realistic and ambitious colleges for MBA based on my profile(1-2 in each category)

An excellent GMAT score is a huge bonus. Getting an MBA in SCM from any of the top schools impacts your career positively and adds value to your resume because it entails real work practice.

You may want to point out one or two significant achievements you made during your undergraduate studies, even though having a GPA of 78% is not a strong point. This will help you overcome this weakness by focusing on what you did well at that time and how it has contributed to who you are today as a professional. The main idea here is that, while there are other factors to consider when submitting an application, the key concern is that we have different strengths when it comes to math and language arts, which can be illustrated through our overall GMAT scores, where a focus score isn’t used much.

For instance, take international B-schools into account along with Indian ones, as they would certainly broaden your horizons. In case things do not work out as planned, then Rotterdam School of Management and Manchester Business School should be considered for bachelor’s degree programmes that are reliable in these fields. On the other hand, if you want to target universities with similar profiles to yours, the National University of Singapore & HKUST Business School (both in Asia) are good places for you. In case what you crave is the ultimate challenge, MIT Sloan and Wharton can boast about their outstanding reputation among business institutions,

Riteshth , Your profile seems to have potential but will need more details. The academic arc is unclear. Average college can still mean somehting in case you've reserached and found people from here been admitted to your target MBA programs. The GMAT score helps of course. The professional profile sounds promising but will be important to understand details - what kind of role? Promotions/achievements? Employer brand etc etc. What's your post-MBA career goal? For reasons mentioned here , we don't speculate on school selection or chances. It's better to do so with a LOT more details, resume and discussions else it'll end up being a GMAT-matching exericse which can be very risky. The extracurricular/volunteer efforts should hold you in good stead. Eventually, it'll also depend on how well you leverage them. Hope this sparks the right questions. Would like to understand your work-ex better i.e. key achievements, skill-sets, any promotions(?) etc. It'd be crucial to have a strong narrative covering these angles, linking them to your post-MBA goals and highlighting the need for 'why MBA'. Also any recent ECs i.e. since undergrad? As MG noted above, it'd be speculative to suggest schools at this point. Broadly though, here are some key factors to consider in deciding your school mix. GRAD. 59.88% ( BSC ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY With a year gap)
Working in PSU Bank since 2013 as officer. Currently Senior Manager Credit.
Passed CFA L1.
Work Ex 12 years (approx)
GMAT OG- 690 (QA50 VA32)
(Will retake)
My job KRAs includes works like heading credit department in a large branch with a team of about 4-5 employees. Supervising works like processing loans, sanctioning, completion of pre disbursement formalities, disbursement and monitoring of the branch loan portfolio.
Have worked as branch manager of a medium size branch with staff strength of 10 for 1.5 yrs.

I am planning to apply in R2 for IIM A B C and ISB

While preparing for the application to IIM A, B, C, and ISB Round 2, your profile displays a mix of strong points as well as areas that require improvement. You have all it takes to be a good leader, given your 12 years in service, who has high responsibility, including team management and overseeing the credit department. The decision to pass CFA Level 1 shows how determined you are towards professional growth. But your grade at the undergraduate level may make top institutions skeptical about admitting you, although your GMAT score of 690 is impressive, raising it by retaking could help boost your chances further. In order to improve the strength of your application, focus on work achievements and leadership roles within essays while giving a positive interpretation to any academic performance gaps. Thinking about ISB might be more realistic; thus, using some strategy while applying would enable you to formulate a strong case for being admitted.
