Questions:
Other than the prospective GMAT score, where does my current profile stand in terms of landing an Deffered MBA admission at the M7 B-Schools
Also what target GMAT score would be appropriate for me given my profile?
asp214Where in finance do you want to work? It would be wise to look for strategic opportunities where you can gain experience in an area of
finance that you would like to work in later, once you have gained the right qualifications. If you think it's difficult to find a vacancy for an internship in these companies, try to get referrals from the right people. You can find them on professional forums and networks. Getting an internship is really not difficult. The M7-B schools will associate a lot of value with your efforts to work on several projects (as an intern). If you do not, I have less confidence in your chances of being admitted to the M7 schools later on.
Deferred MBA programs are designed to provide opportunities for applicants who want to pursue different paths (or at least have a vision) beyond just climbing the corporate ladder. How you perform in this area will certainly have an impact on how adcoms perceive you. Aim for a high GMAT score (700+ on FE)
I also want to tell you candidly that online volunteering and chess (in college) are not the strongest of examples for presenting a well-rounded personality. Look for activities where you get a better chance of engaging with others with especially conflicting or diverse personalities. You may want to rethink your engagements. M7s dont happen just like that.
Feel free to speak should you want professional advice
Best wishes
