GMAT: 710 (V42, Q45, 6 AWA, 5 IR) and 670 (V44, Q37, 6AWA, 7 IR)
Work experience: 7 years in international development and corporate social responsibility, with regular promotions, currently managing a team of 17 across 5 countries.
Extracurriculars: Undergraduate: Delta Phi Epsilon Professional Foreign Service Sorority (Community Service Chair). Post-Bachelor's: Ragnar running relay team captain 2016 & 2017, court appointed special advocate (for foster children) 2014, co-host a women's discussion club, finance working group at my job and part time research assistant on topics related to rescue amid atrocities including sexual violence.
Post-MBA goals: Sustainable and socially responsible business practices, impact investments
Target Schools: Oxford 1+1, Duke dual MBA/MEM, Yale dual MBA/MSc, Cambridge
Education: George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs, GPA 3.48. Did poorly in econ. Re-took macroeconomics earlier this year at a local community college and got an A. Took a graduate level course in undergrad and got an A.
Demographics: US citizen and resident, female, white.
Specific question: I'm scheduled to take the GMAT online next week (my 5 on IR on my last in-person take was a fluke - on all practice tests and first in person test I've gotten 7s. I also typically do better on verbal than I did for my 710 and hope to bump my score). Oxford is my top choice and they say they prefer in person test because of AWA inclusion except for "exceptional individual circumstances." I'm wondering whether to submit only my online results if they're much higher, or to also submit the in person despite the low score on the first take (I failed to cancel in time) and the low IR on the second take.

Thanks for reaching out. First, that's great you saw improvement in your GMAT scores and you've been keeping at it to raise it even further. Hope all your hard work pays off!
Regarding your GMAT question, if you're able to, I would go ahead and submit all scores. I think if your online score is higher, there's still value in them seeing your AWA score. And there's always value in them seeing your progression / improvement. They will use your highest overall score as your official score to review, but I think seeing the full history helps.
In terms of the rest of your profile, your work experience sounds very strong and I think will be quite attractive to Oxford. Sounds like you have some meaningful and commendable activities you pursue outside of work too.

I'm struggling with whether to apply to Said Stage 2, in the interest of upping my chances for admission and scholarships, or waiting until Stage 3 so I can see how other applications pan out before I owe a decision if I'm admitted. How much of a difference do you think Stage 2 (Oct 30) versus Stage 3 (December) makes?
