Hi ametquisquam,

Do not let the undergrad score dampen your ISB dream. You can always focus on the controllable aspects of your candidature and overachieve in those areas. For instance, please work towards acing the GMAT and deliberate deeply on what you wish to achieve post the PGP.

To kick-start your prep and to take a free trial, we encourage you to take 7-day free trial to our GMAT course.

Thanks and all the best!

I'm M(27), engineer from Tier 1 college. I'm planning to give GMAT this year. Want to apply for ISB.

My Profile
10th : 9.4 CGPA
12th : 92%
Undergrad : 6.4 CGPA

Work Experience : 3 Years 3 months
Work Profile : Product Manager (Have mostly worked with mid and early stage startups, currently owning a vertical )

I want to know if I should even aim to get into ISB as my undergrad score is really bad.

Your undergrad score won’t hold you back. ISB really looks at the overall profile, not just grades. If you can land a 675+ GMAT, you’ll be in a strong spot. Plus, your 12th marks are solid and 3+ years of PM experience (especially owning a vertical) is impressive. Definitely worth aiming for ISB.

ametquisquam - A strong GMAT score (ideally 685-695+) and work-ex can help compensate for the GPA, given it's also from a Tier-1 undergrad.

Ofcourse, other elements including the strength of your work-ex (impact in the roles, achievements, promotions, etc.) and overall narrative (why MBA, why ISB, career goals, etc.) are important as well.

Lastly, make sure to not put all your eggs in one basket either i.e. consider applying to a strategic mix of programs aligned to your profile and goals.

Please cross 700 for sure. You have not mentioned the stream of your under graduation and also which institution you attended. Therefore, I am only doing a partial evaluation.

Hope it helps.

Thanks
