Work Experience: Currently at a large cap mezzanine debt investing fund and will be 2 yrs when I matriculate. For the 2 years prior, I've been at a bulge bracket investment bank.
GMAT: 730 (50Q / 40V)
College: UCLA - 3.7 Biz/Econ GPA, 3.6 Cumulative GPA.
Extra-Curricular: On the board of a non-profit, also volunteer with a social enterprise. Previously volunteered for a child mentoring program during i-banking days. Part of StartingBloc (program focused on social innovators). Also have been actively doing jiu jitsu (5+ yrs) as well as soccer (10+ yrs)
Targets: Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Columbia and Booth.
Timeframe: 2013-2014
Post MBA Goal: Go into impact investing / build a fund that focuses on the triple bottom line.
My post MBA goal is genuine and sincere, I'm just not sure how I stack up esp. against others that directly have impact investing exp abroad and/or exp with the World Bank/IFC etc. I really don't want to come off as disingenuous, I guess I'm more curious as to how often do you see an application like this? Is it pretty common nowadays?
