Hi,

Sorry about your results from R1. A few considerations:

1) You seem to be on the lower end of the experience curve - you will do well if you apply next year for the Fall of 2019 admissions.

2) If you are international, then marketing/sales careers are a strict no-no. If you are local, then its ok.

3) Again, if you are international - your GMAT might not be on par with your compatriots, especially if you belong to an overrepresented pool of applicants.

4) I would go lower down the list, from where you are currently if you want to apply this year.

Regards,
Karthik

Hi Admission Consultants!

I would really appreciate if someone can give me some suggestions in terms of my next steps...

Profile:
GMAT: 730
GPA: 3.84
WE: will be 3 years by 2018
Industry: finance/software

I applied to HSW, Kellogg, Booth, Haas, LBS, and MIT in my Round 1 and have been dinged by H&W, Booth, and MIT. Still waiting to hear from GSB and Haas but I'm not very hopeful. Had my interview with LBS and Kellogg.

I'm not entirely sure what schools I should apply to in my round 2 other than CBS (my CBS app is half done since I was originally going for ED but decided to go with RD instead). My post-mba career goal is to work in marketing/retail and I want to do my MBA in an urban city so don't really want to apply to schools like Darden/Ross/Tuck/Yale.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
