Hi all,
I have been circling this forum for a while. I never posted anything, so here is my first. I took my second real gmat test yesterday and I am in a state of shock because my verbal score dropped from v29 to v23. Between my first exam and my second, I took private lessons for verbal and I studied hard, something I did not really do for my first test. I am not sure what went wrong. I had the following timing strategy: spent a lot of time on the first 30 questions and guest the remaining 11. If anyone can shine a light on the reason why my score was decimated, I would really appreciate it.
On a different note, I attribute my q50 in math to this forum.

Hello @ms80,
Great to see a Quant score of 50. Coming to your verbal side, you have only mentioned one thing about focusing more on first 30 and guessing the rest 11. I am not sure if someone suggested this to you or you your self came up with it, this strategy is completely wrong on GMAT.
One thing you might be aware of is that, GMAT hates consistent wrong answers. The only assumption I can make is that you might have got consistent wrong in this phase which made ur score drop. However we will only come to know more if you order ESR reports as there is a possibility that you might have got some wrong in the previous 30 as well.
I would say, don't loose hopes considering you have a strong Quant score, u just need some extra efforts on Verbal side and in case you will start preparing again, don't begin next chapter unless you r comfortable with the previous one.
Hope this helps, feel free to revert in case you have any specific questions.
