So can I send score to schools now for next year sessions? As the scores will expire within 48 hours.

I meant not the score itself but the free 5 "sends" we get that should be used within 48 hours of official score being available on mba dot com .

Hi NavneetKumar7,

Your Official GMAT Score is valid for 5 years, so you can send that Score out to any School at any time during that timeframe (even if you are not planning to apply soon). As you've noted, by doing so now, you can avoid paying a fee later on (currently, that fee is $35/School).

I have a doubt regarding sending GMAT score and Final Application Submission. Suppose I have selected 5 free GMAT sends during my exam, and now i want to apply schools apart from these 5. In That case, do i need to pay separate fee for sending GMAT score and separate for final application, or final application submission includes sending GMAT scores as well.

What is advantage of reporting GMAT score to schools earlier even before applying. I mean to ask what is the purpose of sending GMAT score separately.

Fair to say you will not be required to pay an additional cost for a score that has already been submitted. You may want to check the mba website for current info regarding the process.

raj94knp, yes you have to pay some extra charges to send your score reports to other scores.
You check mba.com for more information on this.

ScottTargetTestPrep , what if one is planning on taking the test 3-5 days prior to application deadline. Would you advise against it or not.
What is a good rule of thumb? I am quite tight on time.

thanks!

It is never a particularly brilliant strategy to take your test so close to the deadline. However, it has been done many times and as long as you take the test a day before the deadline or even the morning of the deadline, you can do that.

However, you are assuming a certain amount of risk and sometimes you just have no other choice but if you can choose to take the test at least two weeks before the deadline so it gives you an opportunity for a retake in case of technical malfunction or another need for a retest, that is always better.

PS. The ideal timeline is to take the gym mat two or three months before your deadline, do you have ample time to work on the application applications.

There's no problem with sending scores long before the application date. Remember this is what MBA programs do all the time. They log incoming test scores coming from GMAC and ETS when they arrive and then map them to your applications when you submit those.

Might as well take advantage of the free score send included with each test attempt. Then if you need to submit to others, you'll have to pay the additional fees.
