Did anyone take the SMU Admissions Test instead of the GMAT? Submitted as Round 2 applicant, and they have asked me to take that.

Hey guys!
I submitted my completed application on Jun 19th and I still haven't heard back from SMU. I had written to them a while ago and they had said they'd get back by July 12. Sent a follow up again on July 17 and no response.

They say on their website that they process applications within 2 weeks but it's been more than a month in my case. Should I consider this a rejection or is this a norm with SMU this season?

Thanks!

P.S: Why is this forum so dead!

What's the latest status? Did you hear back?

When the application season is at its peak, evaluation period naturally increases. We observe this commonly with Columbia MBA applicants; While applicants who apply early round do get their results within 3 weeks, this duration increases up to 8 weeks who apply in later rounds. I think the same could be true for SMU.

Hey, still haven't heard back. I called up the AdCom about two weeks ago and they gave me the same standard response of an "overwhelming pool of candidates" and that they'd get back in August. It's frankly disappointing to have not heard back in 2 months. Why claim a 2-week turnaround on the website? Also, 2 months is just ridiculously long. Thanks for asking!

Hi,

I request any one of you to clarify my doubts:

1. For applicants who apply on or before the 30th October 2019 deadline, i understand that the results will be published in 3-4 weeks time. It would be difficult for applicants to quit their current jobs and join the course by 1-1.5 months (Jan 20' start). Will SMU entertain Feb 20' joining ?

2, For the part time mba programme that starts from July 2020 Intake, will SMU arrange for a temporary 3/6 month visa if the applicant wishes to relocate and then search for and apply for jobs ? Or visa arrangements are only provided for the Full-Time programme ?

Thanks,

Hello,
I am a current member of the SMU community, studying in the MSFE course.
I have a room to rent out to one female flatmate, to share it with someone at yoha:Pearl’s Hill terrace.
The accommodation is SMU-approved and the last floor is reserved for SMU students. People from MBA, MiM, MWM and other courses offered by SMU stay there.

The flat has two bedrooms, one kitchen and one bathroom, all fully equipped. One room is already taken by two females who are really nice and co-operative.
The rent will include WiFi, electricity and water. Maintenance is also provided by Yoha for free.
Please DM me for rent and any other questions related to this. The lease starts from Jan 1st and has to be for a minimum of 6 months. the lease has to be signed with SMU themselves.
