- Strong statement - No such information provided above

- Strong statement -No such information provided above

- Statement suggest it helps -- not that is is most efective - there can be other more effective ways

Might not be true

Answer D.
There are a couple of ways to solve this:

- a precise solution is just looking at what the argument implies: if the foods mention "contain significant amounts of omega-3 fatty acids", which "are known to help prevent blood clots", it follows that - at the very least - some of those taking Omega 3 will have less of a chance to get blood clots. This is what D tells us.
The key is not assuming anything stronger than what we are told, but the very minimum of what can we know.

Solving by process of elimination:

A. People who eat salmon or sardines everyday will completely prevent any blood clots. - this is not impossible, but is far too strong given the information - if Omega 3 "helps prevent" this does not mean it always prevents
B People who do not eat ground flax seeds on a regular basis are in danger of developing blood clots after the age of fifty-five. - this is not stated, nor can it be implied: it stands to reason that the opposite is true, and only those who do eat flax seeds are those who are in danger in the first place
C. A diet that includes salmon, sardines, ground flax seeds, and fish oil capsules is the most effective way to prevent blood clots. - we don't know this. All we have been told is that it is one way to prevent it - no comparison to other techniques
D. Some people with a diet consisting of salmon, sardines, ground flax seeds, and fish oil capsules will reduce their risk of blood clots. - this follows logically - if Omega 3 helps prevent, [b]at least some of the people should have less of a chance[/b]
E. Only eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids is necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. - definitely not stated or implied -
we know it helps, but nothing tells us it is enough
