The BLACKI preference and IIM tag hold true for the 2 year MBA via CAT. I believe SPJIMR holds a definite edge as compared to L,K,I in the 1 year MBA given that it is much older and hence a better alumni network. The location advantage of SPJIMR is also considerable given the fast paced nature of 1 year MBA. I believe that it is probably the 5th best option after IIM A,B, C and ISB.

I agree with this, I was browsing through the profiles of the SPJIMR PGPM graduates on LinkedIn. I have browsed through at least a 100 profiles for each of SPJIMR PGPM and one year IIMs. Except for IIM ABC/ISB , I found SPJIMR folks in a better position than the IPMX/EPGPs of IIM L,I,K.

Every good bschools have really good tie ups. Xlri has with Rutgers university, all iims have with good bschools across world. But they don’t conduct international immersion. Mdi Gurgaon has it as option for students. The international immersion by spjimr is a week workshop at insead and requires you to pay 4.1 lakh and additional travel, accommodation and food can cost over 2 lakhs. So giving over 6 lakh for a week workshop for a certificate may not be the best deal. It’s an additional financial burden for students and depreciates the roi. That may be the reason that other IIM’s, xlri are not conducting this and mdi keeping it optional.

IIMs have a mandatory International Immersion and students have to bear the cost

I agree with this. Although I haven't seen a consistent jump in roles across for SPJIMR pgpm , the jumps and opportunities for the IPMX etc. (IIM L I K) are either at par or lower. I have heard a lot about the PGPM career placement teams(good things). I guess its a good programme if you are looking at staying in Mumbai or haven't managed to crack IIM A or ISB. Can't talk much about IIM B or C since they are lean heavily towards their flagship specialisations (IT & Finance). My entire view is keeping in mind 1 year programmes only.

SPJIMR PGPM's international immersion is for 3 weeks and not 1 week. And the cost of it (including travel) is already included in your fees. Clearing up some misinformation.

Now if I don’t have my gmat score now, can I still fill it ? And give my gmat score when I get it

Is there a deadline for it?

PGDM in SPJIMR is a 2 year MBA while their 1 year MBA is called PGPM and their deadline was on 2nd October.

same with GSCM...... IIM U awards an MBA degree for both its one year MBA programs whereas SPJIMR awards just a certificate for its one year MBA

So there is a huge difference here between a Degree and a Certificate.... SPJIMR awards a diploma for its two years MBA and a certificate for its one year MBA..... so a degree is way superior to a certificate specially when one is spending 25+ lakhs..... Degree > Diploma > Certificate

Considering the pace at which IIM Udaipur's brand is growing which would be a better option in the medium to long term ,IIM Udaipur MBA-GSCM or SPJ's PGPM ?
