I would guess just for R2. I believe R1 had 75ish ppl and I doubt that many people declined the WL so the 62 would be in addition to whoever is left on the R1 WL....but just my guess.

I don't think they rejected any R1 WL applicants so unless they were accepted then they wound up back on the WL.

Does anyone know the approx intakes GSB has for R3?

Really confused whether I should take my chances with R3 or wait till R1 of next year.

Will I be at a disadvantage if I apply next year as a re-applicant?

this is just my opinion, so take from it what you will. I don't know your profile and this is all a black box. personally i'd suggest waiting until round 1 and putting together a really great app. work on your ecs, leadership, gmat, etc and kick butt. just from the logistics standpoint in round 3 you have a very low chance of getting on a WL. in round 1 even if you arent accepted right away, you have a chance of accept or waitlist.

keep in mind that in round 3 youre not only competing against fellow round 3-ers, you're competing against 100+ waitlisted peeps as well.

but if youre desperate to start school this year, give it a shot. nobody really knows except admissions. But personally I think you're putting yourself at a disadvantage by applying round 3 and i'm assuming you already know that since you're asking.

but again, only admissions knows. i could be way off base and you could get in rd 3.

good luck w whatever you choose :)

Thanks for sharing your opinion.
But the crucial question is how do B-schools view re-applicants? So say I were to apply in R3 and was accepted..nothing sweeter than that. But if I were rejected, would it look poorly on my profile if I reapply in R1 of next year? Some people have been telling me in fact it could be viewed favourably as it would show keen interest in the school.

What do you think?

Eh, I think it's all subjective. Personally I think being a reapplicant doesn't affect you (unless it's your 3rd time, maybe) but a lot of people would argue up and down that it is bad/good (altho I'd doubt it often comes down to "well these 2 are perfect but (s)he is a reapplicant so (s)he has a keen interest, so we should take him/her"). Truth is, nobody here really knows unless they've been a part of the admissions process. I'd advise against throwing a 3rd round app together in the last minute on a hope and a prayer tho.

Sorry I couldnt be of more help! I know how it is to want someone to have the perfect answer for you to help decide. :-)

Anyone else here have thoughts on this or advice for OP?

I would also suggest against rushing to apply in R3, and hold off for round 1 next year.

When looking at reapplicants, I believe that admissions the first things admissions for growth (the fact that some schools have "What has changed since your last application" essays conforts this theory). Thing is, if you apply R3 and do not get in, you will be hard pressed to get any significant change before september (in only 6 months!).

A second argument is that you will miss out on things, there is no admit weekend, it will be hard to sign up for the trips that are currently being organised before the start of the MBA, it will be harder to get spots to live on campus. You will have to rush for loans and stuff, visas will be a nightmare if you are international.

Hey guys,

Am facing a problem while submitting my R3 application. When I click on submit, it says that I havent filled the 'Application Round' in the Application Information section. When I go to the drop down menu, it doesnt give me any options.

I had absolutely no troubles this morning when I was doing a mock submit. The drop down menu was showing me options and I had selected R3. It seems it somehow erased it by itself.

It should not be a browser trouble as it was showing in the morning and I have submitted other applications through the same browser.

Could this be because of high traffic?

The deadline if 5pm pacific time so I have about 10 hours remaining.

Any advice?
