Admitted. Got the email around 6pm

Many congratulations. It must have meant a lot to you after the 3 dings.

Thanks and yup, was starting to lose my mind. Thought a 730 and a 3.7 was going to open a lot of mba doors. Looks like it only opened 1 but glad to be going to stern.

I'll second that request although I'll probably only interview in March.

I found the interview to be a pretty positive experience. It was on campus at the admissions office and the interviewer (a member of the admissions committee) was encouraging and genuinely trying to get to know me. They definitely read your essays and resume beforehand as most of the questions are generated from your own history and experiences. I posted a full recap on my interview experience along with the questions that I was asked on the Clearadmit blog under the interview reports for NYU Stern.

After the interview, I was told to expect a decision (via email notification) within 2-3 weeks, but heard back in just 3 days!

Good luck to everyone!

Thanks. Ide say my interview was similar. Had a casual feel while still feeling like a professional interview. Mine was a 2 on 1 although i think one may have been there more for observation or training as she didnt ask much. They def knew my application well as they commented on my essay 3 right off the bat. Got asked all the standard questions plus a few others including one thing i would change about Stern (thought that was weird as hard to change what i havent experienced yet). They were also very interested in why i made the career switches i did and when i did. 25 min of questions and i asked 5 min of questions. Make sure you know nyu specifics bc i felt like every time i touched on an nyu specific, interviewer made a note almost as like a plus 1. This was a little easier for me as im an nyu undergrad alum. Best of luck to everyone.

Congratulations to everyone who was admitted!

Are the admissions just coming in today, or have they been trickling in?

Just hang tight. They'll reach out to you with an update when they're ready. And even if you contact them now, no one will be around to answer you -- basically all of the US is on holiday until January.

Thanks for the interview tips, guys. Very helpful!! Mine is in 3 weeks but I of course wish I had scheduled it earlier so that I'd potentially have an answer already just like you do. Merry Christmas to all and best of luck.

Am guessing it is safe to presume only positive replies are coming across to applicants. Since I had sent across a package for my 3rd Essay, I was told my application would receive a delayed response. Would appreciate if the successful (interview) candidates can mention about their submitted 3rd Essay.

I have never been more anxious for a reply yet. Stern is a perfect fit for me. With a 760 GMAT, solid essays (my best yet) and a support letter from a current student, I cannot pray harder for an interview call. Application sent in 26th Nov, under review on 6th Dec. Hoping for a positive reply soon!

Yes, I think mostly positive replies are coming back. Don't worry, if they said its going to take some time, give them some time. They sure aren't playing any tricks on you!

I didn't send any package, it was a doc for me. I submitted on 26th, under review mail came on 6th Dec. And I guess School would be closed for holidays so next invites should go in mid-Jan or so. Anyways being from India they know its most unlikely that you would visit them to NY for interview so they would not be in a hurry to send you a notification. Ofcousre, I am just guessing!

Hi Saurabh,

Yup, can't do much except sit tight. But will fly to NY for the interview when/if an interview notification comes through.

I've been under review since the 27th of November, and even though the R1 final notification deadline is approx. 6 weeks away, I'm getting worried. Does anyone have insight into how far along Stern is with their R1 application review? Are they close to 75% done with interviewing/accepting/rejecting applicants, or have they only grazed the surface?

Compared to other schools this forum is pretty quiet so it leads me to believe that Stern hasn't determined what to do with the bulk of R1 applicants. If anyone has more insight feel free to drop some knowledge on here.

Thaaaaaaanks.

I would like to know the answer to the aforementioned questions too. My application went under review on November 21st but I have not heard anything since then.

Hey guys, quick question: For the NYU Fit question, do you feel it's appropriate to use names of students you have met or just speak about it in more general terms?

Thanks!

Yes name drop if you can. It can't hurt plus I think it shows you met people and got a good understanding of fit. Some schools will reach out to those people for feedback on you.
