Has any of the R2 applicant received a rejection yet? My status is still the same as it was on day 1. I wonder if they send all the rejections at one go on the end date.

Just got mine ... Waitlisted. Applied 11/14 round 2.

I know this has been asked but any specific advice for getting off the list? Submitting additional recs, etc?

Me too, just got my waitlisted notice (without an interview) and the timeline noted in the letter does not work well with the three other schools I may have a shot at (interviewed, waiting for responses). Any advice on getting off the waitlist is much appreciated.

What timeline do they mention in the letter?

I'm an R2 applicant, and yet to hear back about anything :(

I applied Round 2 on 11/14 and just received an invitation last night to an interview day for Summer Start. Is anyone else going to be there?

I am an applicant from India. I applied in R2 (Nov 15) and received a waitlist notification today (ie, waitlist without interview). I am implying that it's over for me now, as I remember the Stern website mentioning that they hold off-campus interviews in India only in March. Not enough time for them to revert on an interview now :(

That's great news, congrats! I guess there still is some hope for R2 applicants that haven't heard anything back yet.

R2 Indian applicant. Got waitlisted today. Has anyone actually got a denial yet? Looks like they are waitlisting everyone.

Well honestly a waitlist without interview is a ding. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you and concentrate on other schools.

I agree that u should focus on other schools, but being waitlisted is not a ding yet! Dont wait- send addl recs in, a commitment essay, re- evaluate yr profile, fix yr weak areas, send updates, keep in touch with them expressing yr interest every 4 weeks or so and it will go the long way!dont think that u have no shot at it if u are waitlisted! If u literally sit and wait, then yes you have very limited chances. Last year some people got interviews after beeing waitlisted without one!while u should focus on other schools, u should work hard on yr candidacy while waitlisted if this particular school is yr top choice. Good luck!

How does Stern communicate admissions decisions after interviews? Do you just get an email saying that there has been an update to your status, regardless of whether you are denied, WL, or accepted? Then you log in to see?

I received an email saying there was an update to my status, and saw that I was accepted on the status check website. A couple of days later, I noticed I had a missed call from the Stern admissions office on my work phone, but they did not leave any messages or call me afterwards, so I'm not sure what that was about. (I was freaking out on whether they were calling me saying that the admissions was a mistake because: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-1 ... itted.html, but I received the official acceptance packet in the mail later on and relaxed a little.)

I also first received an email saying that there was an update to my status. I wasn't sure whether Stern called accepted applicants, so my first thought was that I had been rejected/waitlisted. Fortunately, that was not the case. Two to three business days later, I received a call from a member of admissions. Hope this helps...

Yes, based on this thread it looks like there are a lot of waitlists, defnitely many more than dings. However, not everyone is visiting this thread and posting updates. I wonder if statistically people that visit this thread or are GMAT club members are better than average candidates and that is why we are seeing a lot of waitlists than dings. Like people who are dined don't really come here (maybe cuz they don't take the application process seriously enough?). Who knows...
