I also first received an email saying that there was an update to my status. I wasn't sure whether Stern called accepted applicants, so my first thought was that I had been rejected/waitlisted. Fortunately, that was not the case. Two to three business days later, I received a call from a member of admissions. Hope this helps...

How does Stern communicate admissions decisions after interviews? Do you just get an email saying that there has been an update to your status, regardless of whether you are denied, WL, or accepted? Then you log in to see?

I received an email saying there was an update to my status, and saw that I was accepted on the status check website. A couple of days later, I noticed I had a missed call from the Stern admissions office on my work phone, but they did not leave any messages or call me afterwards, so I'm not sure what that was about. (I was freaking out on whether they were calling me saying that the admissions was a mistake because: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-1 ... itted.html, but I received the official acceptance packet in the mail later on and relaxed a little.)

Thanks! This helped a lot... and actually just got the status change email 20 min ago ha. Accepted! Beyond excited! Best of luck to everyone still waiting

Does anyone have an idea of what percentage of interviewed applicants are admitted?
I have received an interview invitation for round 3,
but I am an international applicant.
Travelling to NYC will cost me a lot, and I really hope I can make the most of it!

By the way, I am going to NYC no matter how low the percentage is,
just curious about my odds.

Stern invites 20-25% of applicants to interview, and then admits about 70% of those! That made me feel better when I was waiting to hear back after interviewing (this is straight from the website by the way - listen to the Stern Interview podcast)

Congrats! That is great! Could I ask whether you sent a commitment letter? I also read that wait-listed applicants should touch base with the school every 3-4 weeks. Did you do that?

I think summer start begins July 7th, but don't quote me on that date. After I was waitlisted, I had another recommendation sent in, and also sent a commitment letter. I sent a follow up note every 6 weeks or so to just stay in front of them...guess it worked!

I highly doubt it. It looks like only 7 people from R3 have been invited to interview so far. Besides, it seems like most people get invites about a month after applying so I have to assume we'll see an influx of invites coming out soon.

Also, Stern is rolling admissions, the "round" you apply in only guarentees the last possible date you'll hear back by if you've submitted by each deadline. I think they just continue releasing interview invites as they get through each application... Good luck!

if you are coming here might as well spend a grand more and stay for a week and see what nyc has to offer...its been 7 yrs since i began my undergrad in nyc and i still fall in love with it every single time...without a doubt one of the best cities to live in!

No I highly highly doubt it! Nyu interviews are not really round based but when you submit unlike other schools. So if you submit in dec while it's still round 3 you will get yr invite earlier than say someone who submitted in jan but round 3 ....it's a FIFO process and many international students don't submit as they have to fly to nyc for interviews which I find ridiculous..I live in NYC and had my recommendation submitted by a very well known nyu alum and haven't received anything ! I submitted on 15th jan though

Anyone have any clue as to when waitlisted candidates might start hearing back? I was invited to interview, interviewed, then received my notification. Contemplating making a (third) visit.
